Worst offseason in my lifetime.

I'm not talking about the moves that have been made (or not made), but I swear it is just the perfect storm of things to make this offseason feel like torture. The possibility of a lockout, the drought and heat, the way the Cardinals are playing and just the overall excitement I have for the 2012-2013 Blues. Are there any other good Blues' sites besides this one and Blues Talk to help get me through this?

NHL 12, where all fantasies, even Toronto's can come true.

Well my personal excitement for the Blues this up coming season is absolutely huge and I can not wait. The thought of a lock out though is so terrible that I honestly can't even fathom what my life would be like if it were to happen.

I can't believe we got Andronov and Hakanpaa to come over. Prospects are starting to see this is a good team.

Lidstrom is gone, Suter is gone, Weber could be gone, this is an incredible offseason.

Oh, I am hoping for the Cardinals to step it up, you never know, maybe they can pull another wildcard at least. The heat and drought is too much I agree. But, I'm so excited for NHL to start again. It feels like forever since I've watched a game, an eternity since the Blues were on my TV. Time is dragging. If there is a lockout I will go through many stages, such as denial, anger, grief, then crying like a little *****. As of now, I am just hoping hard there won't be one.

Chalk up Rick Nash on the players to leave the division... I heard he wanted a trade because he didn't want to play TJ Oshie 6 times a year. #NashFearsOshie

Hawks and Blues are offseason winners simply based on other teams in their division loosing key players.

It's been a rough offseason and I believe we will not see the season start on time. The NHL came out swinging for the fences while handing out major contracts at the same time. Just gives the NHLPA some ammunition for a lock out to happen. I have been trying to focus on other hobbies cause I know if I get too excited about next season I'll be going crazy waiting for the season to start. I have enjoyed seeing Perron and Oshie sign as well as the tank coming over but I'm thinking the oncoming lockout will at least stall our enjoyment of next season.

Im not really worried about a lockout, after the last one and the damage it did, neither side will let it happen again. Negotiations just started, they will get it done.

I think the season will start late, but they won't let an entire season be sacrificed again.

This is my thought too. I'd imagine both sides know that a lockout would potentially cripple the nhl, they just want what they want and both will settle for a midground eventually.

The '05 offseason was worse, much worse for different reasons.

As a Wings fan, I must say that the Blues' chances to be the new kings of the Central are looking pretty good right now.

My predictions:

1. St. Louis/Detroit
2. St. Louis/Detroit
3. Chicago
4. Nashville
5. Brown Jackets

It will be interesting to see the aftermath of lidstrom's retirement. That defense just does not look good at all IMO. You think they'll still take 1st or 2nd in the division?

1) Blues/Hawks
2) Blues/Hawks
3) Wings
4) Predators
5) Blue Jackets

Last season was kind of crazy for the Blues. They really came to life after the coaching change, and unfortunately they really started to look vulnerable near the end of the season.

I think that the Hawks will start out strong, but we'll likely be neck and neck with them throughout the season.

Detroit always stays good. But they lost Lidstrom. Not an easy player to replace obviously.

Can't wait for next season.
