What a lame thread title.

I was coming in here, expecting to empathize with some poor sap who has tickets in the blues for tonight's game but has a final at 8 o'clock tomorrow morning, and is trying to decide whether to sell the tickets and watch on TV or risk failure to be at the game. Right. Or something like that.

This thread should have been called "Hey losers! Come read about how I got free amazing seats to a playoff game and have a hockey-fan girlfriend to go with! Mwahaha jealousy for all."

That was going to be the original thread title... but it was quicker to type what I did.

If I could have I would have just named my thread:

He and Mike used the tickets on a regular basis. The daughter was going to end the relationship, but ol Red,[the Dad] sang his praises and defended the guy. He told her, give him another chance, at least until the playoffs are over. A wise man who I've always considered a mentor. He's 87 now, and anytime I feel I'm not sly enough, I visit him for a refresher course.
Hey, you've learned your slyness lessons pretty well! I appreciate your stories immensely... that lamb birth from a few days ago was definitely a HFboards classic for me!

Your little tale kind of reminded me about my youth and getting free tickets in the Reds at the Forum several times a year. I grew up in Cornwall (since you're from the area, I'm certain you know that gem of a metropolitan center!) - I feel I need to qualify that I'm pure-laine Quebequois, my parents moving there because of my Dad's work. So no, my genetics are not cornwalian (not that there's anything wrong with that!). That said, as soon as I was of University age I zipped out of there and never looked back; my folks did the same a few years later. That was 15 years ago. Somehow though, there were a bunch of people with quality Habs season tickets in Cornwall and my dad used to score some great weekend games (usually from buisness people he dealt with). Those were the days! Plus it was the 80s so the Habs always had dangerous teams. Now I feel lucky to get tickets in the blues I have to pay for myself. But I have my tickets for tonight and the rest of the playoff so I'm a happy camper!

Anyway, enough of the reminiscing... Go Habs Go!!!

Thats one hell of an impressive trick. Does that work on all Leaf fans or just a select few?

With enough brave Habs fans, we could rid the world of Leaf fans by about 2025 with this method i reckon.
