Ouch. That's some very bad news for the Flyers.

yeah, that's very bad news for a team really lacking on the defensive side anyways. Looks like Schenn is going to be thrust into a more prominent role again.

So, the Flyers' offense had absolutely no answer for our defense... and now, the Flyers defense will have absolutely no answer for our offense.

this pleases me

despite the heartbreaking end to the season, the 2011-12 New York Rangers will always hold a special place in my heart for sweeping the Flyers, including a Winter Classic game that I attended rocking Rangers AND Mets gear

They should trade for Bobby Ryan. That would help, right?

Just out of curiosity, where did you sit for the classic? The guy in front of me had a Ranger jersey and a Mets hat.

Hope Meszaros will be ok, I want him to get better since achilles injuries are possibly the worst. However, this also pleases me like the user stated above.

I'm wagering we'll see Rozsival 6 times this year, wearing orange. He's one of the better UFA options out there at the moment.

I am thinking this means Coliaicovo will be a Flyer more so than Rozsival. If Jagr were still in Philly, maybe they would think about Rozi.

Rozsival is a better player than CC. If they sign CC, all the better for us.

Dan Rosen ‏@drosennhl
Canes sign Jeff Skinner to a six-year extension that starts in 13-14. Skinner will get $4.35 mil in 13-14 and $6 mil per after that.

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie
Wayne Simmonds has agreed to 6 year extension with PHI. Not sure on precise AAV but hearing it's around $4M per year.

Only if there's an NMC that kicks in that year.

3.84 cap hit. Great deal for Philly.

That's a lot of money for Simmonds but they are doing this just in case he continues his play from last season

I like Simmonds and it is a good deal for a player who brings to the table what he brings. He would be perfect here in NY, unfortunately he plays for our rivals

A lot of money? His cap hit is lower than Dubinsky's and at least he has a clue where the net is!

Simmonds is a lot like Dubi too in that he can disappear for long stretches. Decent deal for him.
