Right now, I work a decent but boring job with co-workers that I grit my teeth over.

If it's that, I understand your hesitation to tell people. I always try to avoid saying it, it always leads to long conversations.

oh damn! you're so lucky! I wish I was smart enough to do that lol

Seriously, it's one of the most interesting field there is on earth and that there'll ever be. I went to Lac Megantic's observatory a few weeks ago. It was a blast. So much left to be understood and so many concepts that I can't even comprehend, like the universe ending. Anyways, I'll probably stay educated on the matter for the rest of my life. Things like understanding cosmic background radiation better and the fate of our universe is so interesting. Also, with many of the things we'll discover with the CERN LHC (not astro-related, more like subparticule physics) will probably lead to a new era in technologies.

Where's the like button?

I look forward to CERN results from the full 2012 dataset, and whether or not the Higgs behaves exactly as predicted. I'm also looking forward to what happens when they upgrade the detector soon.

I have only visited Megantic for skiing.

The Planck telescope will teach us a lot about the cosmic background radiation soon, I think within a year.

Lastly, it's not all smarts. I had to spend at least half the Saturday nights of my 20s studying. If you want to do research you need to focus.

At the moment I'm kind of the do-it-all computer guy for a Montreal based comic book shop. Aspiring video game designer.
