actually... PM me if you guys from our original pool are interested and I'll give you the password and info.

After 3-4 days, we'll move on to the reserves.
What are the rules for the keeper you made? Is the original league going to have any keepers? I thought we were doing the 1 QB 1 wr 1 rb thing?

sounds like there is a bit of confusion here

let me know if this makes sense...appears there will be two leagues:

1. original league
* invites already sent via yahoo to last year's owners, if you haven't received yet please PM me
* at the moment still non-keeper...i would like to change to keeper with rules as 1 QB / 1 RB / 1 WR or TE but understand if owners would like to keep this one as redraft so there's a distinction between the two leagues
* draft likely around 24th-25th August but open to suggestions

2. new keeper overflow league
* last year's members have been sent invites by liquid snake, if 2 leagues are too much for you please decline and allow new members to join the overflow
* keeper rules and draft date undecided

I just replied to a PM from Brandonlee concerning the overflow keeper league on NFL.com so I'm guessing we don't need a third league. I'm just happy to play against anyone from HFBoards.

Thanks for the invite, I'm registered

Is there any chance of moving the draft date to another day because I'm coming back from holidays late on Aug 30. If not that's okay, I just thought I'd ask

My team name is: Redzone 2 Endzone.

Yes. That's what I thought. We'd have a 2nd keeper league while keeping the original intact.

I made it exactly the same but wanted to keep the other pool intact with the current members. So I was assuming that our old pool is still the same while I created another one with identical rules and scoring except it would be Year 1 of a keeper pool.

Being 1 QB, 1 WR/TE, 1 RB.

My NFL 2012 predictions.

SB - New England defeats San Francisco.

Peyton Manning won't be a bust in Denver, but it will take more than Peyton to turn it around. Manning's numbers won't be the same outside away from the dome and he doesn't have a lot of weapons in Denver. The Broncos overachieved last year behind Tebow. They will have to overachieve again to make the playoffs. The Chiefs (now healthy) and Chargers will give Denver a run for the AFC West.

The Raiders will suck. Okay, I've lived long periods of my life in San Francisco and I hate the Raider, their fans and their uniforms, their (RIP) former owner, their players and, did I mention their fans? But they will still suck.

My 49ers aren't going to take anyone by surprise, but they will easily win the NFC West and make it to the SB where alas I'm afraid Brady and the Patriots will be their undoing. The best defense in the league is young and only getting better. Smith is no Peyton Manning, but with some weapons to work with will shed the label of "game manager" and be recognized as a pretty good QB.

Seahawks will suck. Matt Flynn is going to have Russell Wilson and Tarvaris Jackson waiting in the wings for him to slip up and Terrell Owens supplying the banana peels, all that while learning a new offense. That's a difficult task for a savy NFL veteran, but for a guy with 2 NFL starts? Lots of weapons, but no go to guy and no consistency in the passing attack. Expect a run first offense, but so will opponents who will load the box against Lynch. Their defense is solid but nothing special; will keep them in games, but if they can't move the ball consistently on offense, the defense will eventually break.

NY Jets QB Mark Sanchez threw a ton of INTs last year and with Tebow waiting in the wings will get a hearty Broncs chear the first time he has a bad game. Tebow will take over from Sanchez before game 8 of the season but Sanchez may still be used in obvious passing downs.. Head coach Tony Sparano invented the Wildcat offense and Tebow is built for this offense.

Green Bay defeats New England (unfortunately for me as a Pats fan) in the Super Bowl.

NE beats Houston in the AFC Championship game.

GB beats SF in the NFC Championship game.

The Broncos miss the playoffs when Manning gets injured less than halfway into the season.

Seahawks will be better than last year, but only slightly (8-8 or somewhere around there). TO will be off the team by week 6.

The Saints still win their division despite all the suspensions.

Luck has a decent-good rookie year stats wise, but the Colts still finish bottom 5 in the league.

yeah i think this is a solid idea

we should keep the original league a redraft league while making the 2nd league keeper with those rules...original owners with option to join and the remaining spots belonging to whatever waiting list we've set up

redraft v. keeper makes for an interesting dynamic anyways

Only thing I don't like about the keeper rules is that guys can theoretically be kept forever. I'd like there to be some mechanism that forces players back into the draft pool periodically.

With a 1 RB 1 QB and 1 WR setup I really don't see it being that big of an issue. Typically players boom and bust so quickly in the NFL that it will create some interesting decisions and choices for sure. Do you keep Peyton Manning or Robert Griffin 3 for example.
