During there primes

Lindros>>>>>>Spezza
Renberg <<<Heatley
Leclair >>> Alfredson

The only thing the pizza line has going for it is longevity.
National announcers were still calling it the LOD when Zubrus was on it, so I'm sticking with the core and whoever else was 5th wheel

It's pretty close.

Lindros in his prime is by far the best player, so that's settled with Spezza.

I'd argue that Leclair would be put up against Heatley (goal scoring roles), and I'd say Heatley was slightly better.

Alfie I'd argue is far better than either Zubrus or Renberg.

However, the Philly line had more of a physical dimension which more than offsets Ottawa's skill advantage.

Tough call.

For a single year, LOD. Just so physically imposing as well as skilled.

Explain.

And Heatley-LeClair and Alfredsson-Renberg are the more logicial comparisons. [EDIT: Didn't see that NyQuil beat me to the punch on this one]

I'd say that this is very close.

I like the people saying the "only" think the Sens have going for them is longevity, like that's such a minor thing. The best line in hockey for three seasons... that's pretty damned impressive.

In fairness, no line ever really came close to "demolishing" that line so I don't think we can just assume that LOD would. That line produced against more or less anything put up against it.

That said, when faced with the greatest level of physicality, it is when the line faltered.

I just don't know that it's a given.

Does anyone have to explain why Leclair is a better player in his prime than alfredson? John Leclair was the best player at his position for Years, alfredsson was never the best in the league at his position. And if you want to argue Heatley vs Leclair, Leclair wins that as well

Since when we're " national announcers" calling the LOD with zubrus? The LOD is Leclair-Lindros-Renberg, locals would know. To this day many flyers fans favorite player of all time is Michael Renberg, hell I named my dog after him

Yes, you do! Particularly during this time period.

Alfredsson:
05-06 = 3rd PPG, 5th Hart (119), 4th Selke (143), 4th Byng (190)
06-07 = 15th PPG, 11th Selke (139)
07-08 = 4th PPG, 10th Selke (92), 10th Byng (98)

J. Leclair:
94-95 = 10th PPG
95-96 = 22nd PPG
96-97 = 8th PPG, Selke (27)

Exactly.

And I'm pretty sure if you switched the comparison to Heatley, he compares fairly well or at least it's much closer than ">>>>>>".

And I hate Heatley.
