the BJs got a 1st, two 2nds, and 4 young futures combine with 3 picks thats 7 futures.
If BJs develope right, in 3 years these 7 futures could catch up to the rest of the pack. by the time nhl14 comes out we would have played at least 4 seasons.

i'd say by the time NHL 14 comes out we will have played 6, seeing as a season will take two months.
LA didnt exactly get a player with a great shot that could score anywhere on the ice, the oilers got carter, whos got a good shot and could be a threat anywhere on the ice, the same could be said about doughty, but doughty is a defencemen so he is only a threat near the blue line.
BJs didnt get players with a wicked shot, but did walk away with the most picks and futures. the BJs lost guys who cant shoot but gained 4 futures and 3 high picks.
so I think I would give this trade to BJs.

They traded their best Dman, probably best center, and a solid Dman in Erixon for...
Horcoff=Expensive scrub
Omark=AHL player
Some nice prospects=wont be NHL ready for 2-5 years
A heavy draft= picks wont come to fruition for a while either.
Ya but you gotta think of this as a video game, Dubinsky is coming off a sh-t season and Johnson will probably be a 84-85. Erixon is a prospect so he'll probably be a mid to late 70 rating which is similar to 1st round selections in NHL games anyways.
Horcoff is usually an 83 rating in the NHL games which will be similar to Dubinsky's. Those picks have good value and can be flipped at trade deadlines for good players.
Oiler won. They got the best player in the deal, Doughty. And arguably the 2nd best player in Carter as well. Yakupov has potential, but even at his best, he would be equal in value to Doughty. Columbus got a bunch of futures, so it's hard to tell.
But doughty at most is a threat from the blue line, and doughty doesn't have a canon like buff or souray.

Confirmed the 3-way blockbuster. Kings are excited to add a first overall pick in Yakupov and plenty of young players about ready to make a big splash in a NHL. Kings anticipate some growing pains while waiting for the kids to develop, but believe this trade provides us with a sustainable competitive edge in the long term.
LA Kings Line Up after trade:
Williams - Kopitar - Brown
Gagne/Yakupov - Gagner - Ladd
Penner - Stoll - Paajarvi
Lewis - King - Clifford
Johnson - Scuderi
Voynov - Mitchell
Erixon/Martinez - Greene
but don't worry i'll have Kovalchuk-Giroux-Hemsky waiting for you. (I might upgrade on Hemsky so our games against each other might be really good, in terms of offence lol.)
