Claude Giroux on pace for 100 points right now in the toughest division in hockey. Anybody ready to say he's surpassed these two by a fair amount?

Overall player, I go with Kesler right now.

Who is most likely to be the best out of three in the future..... it could be Giroux.

I know Giroux will be the best offensively out of the three without a doubt (and probably already is), but it remains to be seen whether he'll be superior enough offensively to offset not being as good defensively as Kesler.

Richards is the worst of the three.

That is in fact what the poll is asking.

I'd take Richards on my team if I had to pick one. He's just such a battler.

There's a reason why I try to ignore these type of threads. It's filled with people who make judgements and claims but clearly don't watch the team or player that they are making the judgment on. Kesler scoring 40 goals is impressive as hell when you consider who his teammates are. If you followed this team even a little you would know his line has often been dubbed the helicopter line because he had no wingers or support 5 on 5. And if you want to get into PP talk then again watch this team even a little and you would understand that without Kesler our PP it would not be even close to as dominant as it is. Him standing in front of the net and screening the goalie (which may not show on the score sheet always) is one of the main reasons why our PP is so successful. Does Kesler benefit from playing with Henrik and Daniel on the PP? Sure and it's no crime. But they benefit as well from having him there. It goes both ways.

Anyways I think its pretty close between Giroux and Kesler. Richards isn't too far behind but I'm having a hard time choosing between Kesler and Giroux for the 1 and 2. I have a feeling that Giroux will have a better year than Kesler though and that will give him the 1 spot.

Don't really watch the Flyers so I have no idea how consistent he is on the ice, but he seems to be racking in the points so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Homer vote goes to Kesler, because I REALLY doubt the other two play with the heart and sheer determination he does.

But if Giroux keeps up the scoring throughout the season I think he's the clear number one.

Polls involving Kesler and Richards used to be a lot closer.

What happened?

I guess all the homer votes from Flyers fans went to Giroux on this one.

Mike Richards regular season performance has really declined. That plus back then Mike Richards had established himself as a star a few years before Kesler even got off Vancouvers third line. It takes time to give any guy his recognition.

I'm too biased to vote. Richie is my favorite player, G is up there too. I like Kesler too, but it's too much heart and not enough brain on this one.

You can't be serious.

edit: Right now, I'd say Giroux >>>>> Kesler > Richards.

Richards and Kesler have had better careers so far but obviously going forward you take Giroux and its not even close.

Sigh. No he's not. He might be the worst of the three for D but he's better offensively by a country mile.

This was posted last year, but this is a classic case of HF overrating 'proven' players and underrating young star players who put up elite numbers. It's always gonna be like this on here.

I voted Giroux last year too.

So far so good.

It's funny, because now if anyone is closer to Mike Fisher, it's Kesler.

Glad to see I voted Giroux last year.
