Jason Arnott

It is still unclear which direction Stevie Y is going in terms of a 3rd line center.

I'm curious to see what fellow bolts fans think of the idea of trying to aquire Arnott. He fills a few needs we need on the 3rd line such as, size, defensively reliable, can produce points and veteran leadership.

I'm not sure if Killorn is ready to make the jump yet as he would be taking on a role that would involve alot of responsibility defensivley. 1 full year in the A could be what he needs?

I would rather see Arnott centering the 3rd line instead of Pyatt, Thompson and Wilson.

Thoughts, opinions?

I'd be ok with a veteran 3c for 1 yr while Killorn gets his feet wet with 10-15 NHL games.

I want a decent defensive team in front of our young goalie so he doesn't lose his confidence. Although I like our AHLers, NHL rookies do tend to stink defensively.

I would like to see a vet 3rd line center brought in, but, think Yzerman seems pretty content going with the options we've already got.

Dominic Moore would be my first choice in this role. Brendan Morrison or Jason Arnott would be fine secondary options. I think we need an experienced anchor on the third line and, unless its Bugsy getting bumped down, I don't see that on the team currently. The chemistry and success of the third line was instrumental to the teams success two years ago and clearly missed last year.

If we don't bring anybody else in we're really going to be in trouble if Stamkos or Vinny get hurt. While we might be able to squeeze adequate perfomance out of one of our internal options, I fear necessity forcing us into using more.

Wouldn't be opposed to him for 1 year, not sure what he has left to offer though. I didn't see many Blues games but Blues fans seemed happy he wasn't coming back. If the team doesn't perform we could dump him at the deadline for a pick. If he performs and we're in playoff position we would have to trade for someone like him. I just don't see SY adding any more players to the roster.

I really like Arnott - my only doubt is his speed...

I'd like just once for Arnott and Artyukhin to play on the same team.

Lol, the announcers could have some fun with those two passing the puck back and forth.

As for Arnott, yes, he looks like he has slowed down and there is a rumor here on hfboards that he has become grumpy in his old age, for whatever that's worth. There are probably better options, including the internal ones.
