It looks like it on paper but as we all know "you don't win anything on paper". The past two seasons we've had a better team on paper than our Stanley Cup team and haven't won anything.
It just seems like the pens aren't really prepared if they are truly going to play tangradi in the top 6. Why didnt they give him top 6 mins last year? Hell why didn't they even play him on the third line? I would be shocked if he plays on the top 6. Has he even been signed to a contract yet? Many of you seem convinced he is slated to play in the top 6 but I would be shocked if that happens. He hasn't show he deserves to play top line minutes, theyre not going to just hand him the roster spot based on his potential 3 years ago .

bottom line is someone has to step up and play in the top 6, whether its Tangradi, TK or Jeffrey. i think everyone would rather it be Tangradi so TK can still be on the 3rd line.

Who else will be there? Someone needs to step up. We just slot him in there because he fits the ideal role we are looking for on the line. Big bodied guy that can protect the puck down low, crash the net, bang bodies, screen the goalie, and actually pass the puck. That opens up space for Geno to carry the puck and lets Neal be the trigger man.
Didn't Tangradi get handed a spot 2 years ago at the beginning of the season?
ya i think ur right, it was when a bunch of guys were hurt, he was up with the Pens a few weeks til they sent him back down, i honestly don't remember how long he actually played in that spot tho

Not much. I was at the second home game against Montreal and it was Tangradi-Comrie-Malkin. Tangradi played a few shifts and by the 3rd he was on the 4th line and the bench. He didn't necessarily deserve more ice time, but neither did anyone else in that game.
I feel like we should trade Kennedy and place Jeffery in his place
Not unless we are getting an upgrade to Kennedy or he's part of a package for the upgrade. I really like Jeffrey and want him to get a chance, but right now Kennedy is a better hockey player. We would be making out team worse, until Jeffrey proves himself. Given our lack of goal scoring wingers, why would we trade one that fits his role perfectly?

I think Jeffrey could eventually be a better fit if that line will really be a defensive shutdown line. But he needs to come in and prove he can still play. Right now there's no reason to get rid of anybody.
he played with Geno in the pre-season and looked really good. then he got sent back to WBS.
thats not the whole story. I understand you're trying to make Tangradi into a victim but he played with him for the first few games of the season and each game was demoted from a line with Malkin and Commrie to the 4th line by the end of the game. He was given a shot here but maybe the chemistry wasn't right so he flopped or maybe he wasn't ready for this 2 years ago.

I don't remember him playing in regular season games. You could be right though. Either way, it's not really that relevant at this point. I just want to see what he does now.
so he was given his usual one mistake before being dropped to the 4th line and benched? That's not any better than being sent to WBS.
Yeah I agree. I was just saying he did play the first 10 games or so. Not much of an opportunity of course. I really want to see him on the roster this season for the whole year. Give him at least 10-15 minutes (if he earns it of course) and I think we will be pleasantly surprised by his impact.

I just hope he is given a LITTLE bit of leeway wherever he plays. He isn't going to be perfect. Neither are his replacements though.
