Already without starting right tackle Jammal Brown, the Washington Redskins lost starting left guard Kory Lichtensteiger for the remainder of the preseason Monday after he underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.

And if those injuries weren’t alarming enough, backup tackle Willie Smith twisted his knee during a one-on-one drill. The second-year pro was competing to start in place of Brown but now will have an MRI exam.

I still think we should have gotten an OL instead of Cousin/backup QB at 4. Its almost creating our own destiny needing another QB, getting a backup QB instead of more OL. Sure we got Ribs but Brown is a T and has been limping every day for what, 3 years now?

While Willie Smith showed potential I think there must have been a better option available at 4. Maybe not in Shanahans eyes, sure, but tend to think an OL was available that could have helped us more than Cousins.

I would say get a backup QB next year since they retained Grossman. If we need 3 QB's it doesn't matter who the 3 is.

Maybe these injuries will force his hand and make him go get one. Today.

Good news/bad news on the Jammal Brown front:

Al Galdi‏@AlGaldi

From @JasonLaCanfora: #Redskins RT Jammal Brown's injury not serious. No surgery. Rest & rehab. Not season threatening.

Good news, Brown's injury isn't serious. Rest and rehab.

Bad news, Brown's injury isn't serious. Means he will continue to be a cloud/question mark hanging over the team throughout training camp.

Just got off phone w/ Jammal Brown, he is still in NY, says he has not even met with Doctor to discuss, says "something is wrong w/my hip."

Good ole #16 answering the bell!

Burgundy Blog‏@BurgundyBlog

Have previously pegged Banks as a goner but he's not going down without a fight. Many reports noting improved focus and receiving skills.

Interesting...was bored and looking through Forbes top 400 richest Americans list. Tied for #397, dead last on the list, Dan Snyder, $1.05 BILLION.

First depth chart is out for the Skins ahead of the 1st preseason game on Thurs.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...html#pagebreak

Seems pretty cut and dry for the most part accept for Tim Hightower listed as the #1 RB. Guess we will find out Thur. how up to speed he is. Or some of you will since being down in NC for this week on vacation I doubt I can get that game on TV down here.

From what I've gathered, he can't pass protect worth a **** and with who are QB is, that's obviously a problem.

Good catch, I bet you are right.

Is the old stiff biting the bullet perhaps, and going to a pass happy offense?

All the playoffs QB's last year had 5K passing yards., except good ole 4-13 63 yds Tebow . The likes of New England and Indy have changed the game. Its a passing league and we are collecting the parts to join in.

I think that WR Dezmon we snatched up from Tampa was a steal. He's big and looked good to me. I am not expecting much from Morgan and Hank and think we will need him.

I am predicting Garcon Moss Briscoe to be our big 3.

Apparently neither Royster or Helu can pick up a blitz to save their lives nevermind save Griffin's life. Thats why a 65% Hightower is #1 on the depth chart.

Good news I read about is that Polumbus and the Rookie Adam Gettis are looking good on the right side in place of Brown and Chester. On the flip side, Hurt and LeRiebus are struggling at LG. Add RB's that can't pick up the rush and expect Griffin to do a lot of rolling out tonight.

Also, anyone got a stream for tonights game? I am down in NC so no Skins on TV tonight. Figure a stream would be a long shot, but I really don't want t shell out $19 to get the preseason package on NFL.com for one game.

Griffin with training wheels on for his first series. Nice pass to Garcon, should of been a 1st down. And it will take a while to get used to the burgandy around the collar on the jersey's. odd.
