Sakic for me. Only reason I am a hockey fun today.
Cried like a baby when I watched his retirement video.

Forsberg will always be my favorite player. Have been watching him since 1994 olympics. His obsession with his profession and his passion for winning was very inspiring.

Forsberg

Forsberg is the reason I got hooked on watching hockey after not really paying much attention to it for almost the first 3 decades of my life, other than the 1980 Olympics. I've become more of a fan of hockey every year since, but Forsberg is still my favorite player to ever watch. His skating, shooting, physical play, and will to win were all huge reasons, but my favorite thing about watching Forsberg was his passing and vision to make plays that very few players could even recognize.

Spot on. Forsberg had phenomenal vision. Super Joe had the shot though. Love them both, but Forsberg more because of his ability to take over a game.

Oliver Kahn was my favorite athlete when I was young, Patrick Roy was my favorite Hockey player. I really loved my crazy goalies that hated the puck/ball out of their net. Both were great talents, but what really made them great was that hatred for giving up goals.

Shocked.

I thought Forsberg would be winning this in a landslide.

Sakic was clutch and the best of the best in his prime, but we would have been nothing without Roy.
Yeah, he was also kinda a dick. Hence why he's not quite "favorite" material. Not saying there's not a place for him, I loved him and probably his personality most of all, but Sakic is the "best friend" type guy, Roy is the "******* you love to party with."

Forsberg was never no. 2 on the ice. Don't you think he would have done something to prevent it? Sakic's shot and Roy's acrobatics was bystanders in comparison.
