i'd prefer to keep zajac with kovy, especially if clarkson ends up on his line. his defensive skill would help make up for kovy's less than optimal skill in that regard even strength.
Ya, I don't trust Henrique enough defensively yet to be able to make up for Kovy's occasional mistakes on his own. Zajac is the better fit there. I'd rather put Zubrus at RW on that line though, Clarkson doesn't belong on the top line.

Surprising that we now have the opposite situation as we did last year around this time, when our top 6 was excellent and our depth was in trouble. Now we have excellent depth, but at least one big hole in our top 6.
And you wanted Lou to do WHAT exactly? I'm prepared to laugh at whatever ridiculous suggestion you may have that never happened, but I'm cool with that, as I enjoy laughing.

Complaints are going to happen anyway. If we stumble upon that kind of player for a criminally low cap hit, the complaint will be that he won't play well with our existing lineup, or everyone will be ready to riot if he doesn't have a hat trick in his first period with the team.
I'd rather start negotiations with Tallinder. I'd really like to hold onto a Greene-Fayne/Greene-Salvador pairing.
I like your lines, but I'd have Huselius play with Elias, and bump Zubrus down to the 3rd line.
My thought is that Edm. wouldn't want Tallinder. Neither player is particularly physical, and Greene is the younger of the two - he'll still be there when all the Edm. kids are in their prime. Can't ask a team to give us their second line center for a collection of players we don't mind losing.
The reasons I had Zubrus on the 2nd line are chemistry and how well he works in DeBoer's system. Huselius should start on a 3rd line and be moved up if he merits it. Of course, now I should probably just replace his spot with Butler, but that's ok, too.

He was joking, but there are definitely others complaining about it who aren't.
Don't look into it too much (or do, I don't care) but a funny anecdote from my day:
Walking out of cafe in Montclair, NJ today after lunch and as I'm walking out, an older gent in a t-shirt, shorts, flip-flops and a rolex watch is vociferously saying in to his cellphone,"...well with the Parise situation and what he did to us, I don't know what to do about that. We'll have to decide next week".
I didn't recognize him, could have been part of the NJD org or a peed-off STH or whatever, just thought it was a funny thing to hear out of the blue.
And then it reminded me of, "and if it wasn't for my horse, I wouldn't have spent that year in college".

and you didn't stalk him so you could later shake him down for information?

Sounds like my Dad. He thinks he owns the team to. lol
If Zajac asked Lou to sign him mid season he definitely would I think unless he thought the price was too high or something. I wouldn't be surprised.
Midseason, sure, but Zajac has no reason to sign now, coming off a down season, when he can prove himself in his contract year and get a bigger payday if he waits.

Yeah it's best to wait until January I guess. Maybe with the new CBA UFA age goes up too? I just hope if it goes up one year we don't just give him another one year to UFA. Though if he's down I'm sure he'd multi year.
