Good read, found this interesting from Shero at the end
"One thing we do have that we haven't had in a while is cap space," Shero said. "That's something we can bank on moving forward, and we'll see where that takes us."
Personally, I found the comments more interesting than the article itself. Some real, um, yeah ...
I'm a fan of the Wild fan hoping for a 15th place finish and career-ending injuries to Crosby & Malkin.
WTF did the Penguins ever do to that guy?

"Little thing that not too many people know," Shero said, "but we actually hate signing wingers. Period. I wake up in the morning every day, have my coffee, and think to myself... ****, how can I avoid adding talented wingers to this roster? So I'm just not going to do it"
"Crosby will do just fine with Kennedy and Dupuis on his wing. If those guys get injured? Well, certainly Craig Adams has shown a knack for putting pucks in the back of the net, so I'm not too worried if we need to bump him up to the top-6."

fake quotes like that are easily made too ridiculous. you showed good restraint and didn't overdo it. well played sir

I almost believed you until the part about Craig Adams.
Those Shero comments were from earlier in the summer I believe. Nice set of articles / features by NHL.com but nothing new really other than the "questions" bit.
That stuff didn't really bother me too much. His countless dives that series pissed me off a lot.
Yeah i dont mind a little chirping thats OK. Andi dont think diving is the worst thing in the world to do, but Schenn really took over a certain line so that it wasnt funny anymore. Highlight of the series was Sid making Claude eat a few knuckle sandwiches
I like when scoring is exciting. This wasn't good offense creating exciting goals, it was terrible hockey allowing bad goals.
Whatever i just thought it was crazy that a goal could happen any second. The announcers barely even bothered calling the goals anymore in the last minutes
I refrain from reading comments on Facebook and from the articles on NHL.com.
It's not worth reading that level of stupidity.
Even from our own fan base, when there was a status about Sutter so many Pens fans were saying how we should have kept Staal.
I read one comment saying that we traded Staal just to avoid paying him, another comment saying we can't afford guys we draft.
And other comments saying Staal would have signed here if it was a shorter term deal and that Shero is a bad GM because he traded him and he's a spoiled brat because Staal turned down a 10 year deal.
Umm, do they not realize that money and term had nothing to do with it, and that Staal wanted a better role which he wouldn't have on the Pens?
I tried telling them that Shero made the right move, a franchise type of player who turns down a 10 year deal but mentions that he will negotiate with another team is a hint that he doesn't want to be with the Pens. And that if we didn't trade Staal he would have left in 2013 for nothing and not only would we not have Staal, we wouldn't have Sutter, Pouliot or Dumoulin, Jeffrey would be our 3rd line center and our prospect pool would be weaker. But Pens fans continued to say how much Shero screwed up trading Staal.

Pens fans.
Staal screwed the pens when he made it known he wouldn't play for any team except Carolina. That pretty much prevented shero from trading with 28 of the teams. It wasn't Sheros fault; Rutherford could have just waited until next year to sign staal as a ufa. In a perfect world, we would have received a lot more trading staal. I just think people are frustrated with shero, we donated michalek to clear up space to sign no one, lost out on the Parise sweepstakes and the team is worse than last years team. Not all of this was his fault.

I'm not bashing Shero..,
considering the situation I am impressed with the return Shero got for Staal.
