I think another year of junior will do him a world of good. Allow him to dominate the OHL level, get his skating back to 100%, play in the WJCs, etc. There's really no downside for the Canadiens to put him that position. I really doubt he help them much at the NHL level this year.

Nothing to do with stats.

also does anyone want to venture a guess at the possible line combos we might see in the coming games?

Oh, I agree with you I just wanted to know if it was something specific that stood out.

Good size center with speed, defensive awareness, and a nice shot. He reminds me a lot of Mike Fisher and just happens to pattern his game after him (go figure). I can see him as one the NHL's top 3rd line centers down the road...maybe more if his offense translates to the NHL.

Don't sleep on this kid because he is in the Sharks system. I think he will prove to be an awesome prospect sooner rather than later. As Spin has suggested...Pavelski 2.0 (enhanced speed).

USA won 5-2. Goals from Matteau, Kuraly, Gaudreau, Kerdiles and Noesen for USA. Aaltonen (2) for FIN.

I expected Galchenyuk to show up on the scoresheet more often, only 1 goal in four games.

I thought this was Galchenyuk's best game to-date.

Kuraly is a gem.

Sounds like Galchenyuk is working hard but the goals aren't coming yet, I'll take it.. If he was floating I'd be worried, but that's not his style.

Glad to see Kuraly and Lucia both having strong camps. A great camp doesn't guarantee a spot on the team (just see Kenny Agostino last year) but I'm happy that both have risen to the challenge so far. I had both on my team before the camp and I hope both can carry this camp forward into the NCAA season and solidify their spots.

Good article on Kuraly:

Quote:
Kuraly said what's helped him most is one simple thought: See puck, get puck.

"That's my role," he said. "I'm simple. Puck's there, I've got to win the puck. I've got to win faceoffs, be in straight lines. That's what I have to do. I've got to get in there, get the pucks, get it to [teammates] and win battles. If I do that, it all works out."

Anybody have an opinion on how Tyler Biggs and Garret Sparks have done?

His playmaking is very evident though, and that skill up the middle is what we desperately need.

Can anyone comment on Grizz? I guess he had a 2 assist game and looks good on PP.

Edit: Not sure if it was against Finland or in a split roster game.

The Kuraly train just keeps on rolling. He has one assist, so far.

Galchenyuk just scored a sweet goal judging by twitter.

Chris Peters ‏@chrismpeters
Alex Galchenyuk with some ridiculous moves to get to the net, beating 2 defenders, gets rewarded as shot deflects in. 4-1 USA. Wow. #NJEC

Corey Pronman ‏@coreypronman
Galchenyuk with a pretty goal. Went through a couple of Swedish defenders before getting the puck on net.

Nice effort by him but the swedish D put it in his own net.
