I agree that any of the 3 that were offered up by Hatrick would be massive overpayment for Raymond but Raymond is pretty much exactly what he was asking for, he's the closest replacement to Setoguchi you could find so..... what about Raymond, Rodin & Sweat(2 more potential top 9 wingers with speed to burn) for Handzus, Doherty & Petrecki. Handzus would be the ideal 3rd line center (with some 2nd line time till Kesler is back from surgery) and we could use some Dman depth with size

Many Sharks fans wanted Handzus gone (even bought out), wondered if Petrecki would even be brought back, and wondered if Doherty had ever played hockey before he joined the AHL. Okay, that last one is over the top, but all 3 were horrendous disappointments last year.

The Petrecki one was over the top too. Regardless of how bad he was, he is still restricted and still only 23. Yeah, he's hitting that breaking point sooner rather than later but there's nothing lost in retaining him...it's not like they have other prospects banging down the door for the opportunities that Petrecki will be getting.

I meant to write that a few even questioned if he'd be brought back, but upon reading it again I wrote that "many" did. I didn't want him to leave as I know defensemen usually mature later, but my point that his season was completely disappointing still stands.
Their stats are very similar, Richards is on a decline, Pavelski is on a steady incline. Pavelski is also a quality 1st line RW as well as being one of the best 2nd line centers in the game. The only reason Pavelski might have any reduced value is because of the length of his contract. Trading him for a third liner and a top-4 dman is pointless, the Sharks gain nothing from that.
If we trade Pavelski it's either for a top-6 winger or a Boyle replacement, anything else makes no sense.
Since when is Richards on the decline? He was excellent before his concussion, and after his concussion, he played with Nolan and King (while Pavelski was attached to Thornton's hip). Not to mention he practically had to adjust to two new systems (crap Murray and then Sutter), both of which were completely different than the one under Laviolette.
Like I said earlier, Pavelski is better defensively (though Richards is still great defensively), but Richards is better offensively. His physicality and speed make him a constant threat in all situations.
I wouldn't consider a deal for any 3 of them if Raymond is what the deal is centered around.
Would Hansen for Clowe be a return you would like?
People knocking his speed need to keep in mind the Sedin line isnt overly fast which is where he would likely play.
Canucks fans not wanting to trade Hansen, keep in mind this fills a top-6 roster spot and opens up a 3wing spot for either Kassian or Raymons (depending who earns it)
