Yes he played, and did it quite well. Was one of the best for CND.

Well let's be reality..

They have Hall/Eberle/RNH who I doubt will be moved before Yakupov.
Klefbom/Marincin/Whitney/Smid will have to be retained, along with other defenders. Eventually the Oilers will need a goalie.

and then they still will have MPS/Gagner/Hemsky/Pekham/Petry..

I mean it's a possibility that they will be able to conserve said core, but the if the cap fails to rise, perhaps even lowering, some moves will have to be made..
Sure Yakupov won't be as available as other players, but eventually I believe that for the right price he will be available.

No they'll be fine. Their roster actually mirrors Chicago's a few years back minus the defence.

But back to the Challenge. Not sure I'll be able to wake up at 10 :/

Who says he won't outplay Hall, and make him available instead ? I mean, he didn't even play a single game in the NHL, who knows really ?

About those lineups, would have loved to see Nischushkin for Russia...

There's something about Hall that makes me think that he will stay longer, perhaps the physical element in his game.
I think Yakupov might be moved eventually to try and fix a whole (defense)

This is probably somewhat influenced by how much I'd love to see Galchenyuk and Yakupov united again.

A strong showing by Hudon. More showings like this and I'll warm up to him even more.

Hudon looked good with the puck, he really needs to work on his skating though.

In the short term, it would really be awesome if Hudon made the Junior team in January.

I'd say he's almost a lock so far.

Everytime I watch Ryan Murphy play, he reminds me of Yannick Weber.

Hudon looked good again, smart with the puck.

Well he wasn't even at the Combine. So I can't blame them.

Thanks for posting the article, good to hear he has a fan in Spott.

Also nice to hear that Leblanc has bulked up this offseason.

Nice piece on a player I had wrote off as a pick to appease the "francophone" element. It is nice to read he might actually be a hockey player.
One thing stands out for me though. He's quoted as saying he's had contact from Timmons, but he doesn't mention Lapointe, Director of player development or Brisbois. Player development coach. With our dismal record of asset management I had hoped the purpose of hiring these guys was to interact with our prospects, get their heads screwed on right and to maximize their potential with the Habs. I would have expected these guys would be working closely with the prospects but it doesn't come off like that in this article.

"It was a great experience to go to Russia for the first two games, both on and off the ice for what to expect" noted Hudon, who now finds himself fine-tuning some elements of his game on the advice of Canadiens management, including Trevor Timmins, who has kept in touch."

Timmins is just one of a few. And I think it's a bit premature to read too much into Habs developmemt focus based on one sentence in an article that is about one player, and a low draft pick to boot

Pretty much. At this stage he's seen Timmins more than anyone else due to interviews and such. Later on, through many years of development camps he'll get to know our other guys pretty well.

Martin Lapointe is 5'11", and trying to dig up his weight at his draft in 91, the best I can come up with is 197 lbs, from which he went to 215 as a player. Seems he would be a reasonable reference to get Hudon into NHL playing shape, although I have misgivings about any pharmacological assistance Lapointe might have used.

Edit: I see he comes from Alma (my own birthplace ). Time for the Habs to develop another Bleuet Bionique.

His big knock was his skating, but to be honest his skating has looked decent.

Not great by any means, but definitely respectable. He just needs to work on it some more.
