They're using the Mlive source. Wasn't this the same source who was confirmed as ********?
According to some of my Red Wings friends, the writer listed is apparently reasonably accurate, have actual sources, and generally won't speak before getting tangible information.
EDIT - Stratch that. The original source apparently leads back to thefanblogger.
The thing that I like in the MLive article is that talks about Philly potentially making a big pitch for him. That will definitely drive up his asking price.
Again, this would be my offer. Jbo, Stajan, Babs for Filppula and Quincey.
That deal could actually workout great for the Wings. Watch Bouwmeester return to Allstar form there and Babs get 10+ PP goals.

Staj and babs not needed unless they are dumps in which case why are we giving Quincey too?

Actually, they are not dumps. And I disagree I think Det could use both players. They have alot of question marks throughout their lineup and those players would fill lots of holes.
I'm stuck between MVW's proposal and Skobel's statement. I've never been one to put Bouwmeester on the block, especially now that Sutter is gone. If I wanted to trade Jbow, I would trade Bouwmeester to Philly moreso than I would to Detroit. Philly has better trade options.

Where exactly does Stajan fit? Definitely not at center since we have Dats, Z, and Helm as the top 3. Abby is the 4th with Emmerton and he is a big body that is quick and plays hard and physical Moreso than a faceoff specialist but we know Stajs isn't good in a checking role.
Where exactly is the hole stag can fill that can't be filled internally?
Babs maybe he can fight for a 5/6 spot do that's ok I can see it there but this does not warrant losing Quincey for Babs and a player that they can't fit into a top six and is not efficient on a bottom six.

Z can play wing, thereby distributing the top 6 talent more effectively, while Babchuck can provide PP quarter backing on the second unit. Besides White and Kronwall, who can blast the puck from the blueline better than Babs?

Just accept the fact that Bouwmeester is going to Detroit with the rest of our crap for your best young players. Stop lying to yourself and accept the truth
according to Eklund the following teams are interested in J. Bo....
St. Louis, NJ, Philly, and Phoenix are also possible destinations for Jay Bo's services.

What would be a good deal from Phoenix
Eklund isn't a credible source.
I really hope JBo stays, let's see what Hartley does with him.
@ Tfong, you think Helm and Abelkader are better options than Stajan? Those are your classic 3rd liners, Stajan has shown he can put up 40-50pts. Detroit is notorious for taking guys like Stajan, Babchuck (and Jbo for that matter) and making them play to their potential (ie. White, Bert, Cleary and on and on). I just think a team like the Wings that is a perennial contender cannot afford to rely on so many question marks with inexperience.
Worst case, Babs is off the books at the end of the year and Stajan the following. Very low risk for them, on the other side of the coin they may lose Filppula anyways, so its pretty even both ways.
IF there is a season I want JB to stay full stop. He eats minutes better than really anyone else in the NHL why get rid of that? It has always bewildered me.
Unless we get a stellar deal, I say Feaster keeps him.. He knows Hartleys system could help Bouwmeester a lot, I doubt he trades him for scraps without testing it out first.

Well said. IF the offer is huge and the new D can eat the missing minutes then totally but can Ericcson replace his minutes? Gio always puts in about 5 mins less per game... will see but if Feaster can pull it off it would be a great deal and Filppula would be fantastic... FACEOFFS especially. Things are looking better than in mid April.
I'm being honest when I say this, I don't see a big difference between that lineup and Vancouvers. Our 2nd line is better, our 3rd and 4th are also. Our defence is very well balanced and we can share the minutes by committee.

You are either overrating our offense, or underrating theirs. Even with Filp, we don't compare. While we have depth, we don't have the same quality as them.
