Can a salary cap be set in the league? If yes, please do! Just to keep it realistic. And I'm also down for fantasy draft, but how would we determine the order?

There will absolutely be a salary cap.
I was thinking just a random generator for the order...
they usually have it for normal be a GM mode if I am not mistaken...so I dont see why they wouldn't have the option for online
Because offline you'd only have a single human team doing the fantasy draft, so it gets completed in one sitting.
Online, you'd have 30 human teams participating in a 48 round fantasy draft to flush out the NHL and AHL rosters, plus prospects. That'd take forever. It took over a week for our HF Sens mock 2012 entry draft to hit 5 rounds, and that was considered fast. It'd take easily a month to do a 30 team, 48 round draft on NHL12.

I'm pretty sure your right. If anyone has played FF drafting evens 10 team league is brutally long for 15 rounds.

lol true I just recalled doing a draft by myself with 29 computer teams that make their decision in 1-2 seconds and that took prolly a good hour or 2
Well Smeddy I'll have to come pay you a visit at work soon to preorder this game. If I decide to go with the PS3 version I'd be down to manage the San Jose Sharks.
Fantasy draft would be alright but even if we get stuck with regular teams it'll be all good. Just means if you team is crap you get to pretend you're Scott Howsen!

Ah true I've always just been too lazy to play online. That is why I love the fact that they added the position of "Coach" so I can just sit on the bench and change the lines.
It's really early, but I am willing to shop Taylor Hall for a defenceman.
Gotta move Hall and Eberle as a pair man. I've never been able to trade for either player separating them in my GM modes after watching their apartment antics in Oil Change.
