Ahahaha. Thanks for reminding me of one of my favorite first-round moments. Nothing better than breaking a homer announcer's heart.

You would love listening to the evolution of Hughson's tone throughout the series. Game 1 he sounded like the series was gonna be a cakewalk. At the end of Game 2 we got the line"and the President's trophy winners are in big trouble" line
In Game 3, he relapsed a little with Schneider in net. I think he realized they were losing the series after that game and he toned it down for Games 4 and 5.

The current Canucks (and especially their fans) have replaced the Oilers and Flames of the '80s as a team that I REALLY, REALLY, hate. There is not enough bad that can happen to them. Beating them in 5 games before winning the Cup is just icing on the cake.

And watching the CBC feed (announcers) of these PO games makes me realize that the NBC crew does a very good job. The CBC bias is palpable... and quite funny / unprofessional.

As the Kings moved from one round to the next they got better, especially during the finals.I thought they did a much better job in game 6 than NBC [with the exception of the crying about the penalties during the 2nd intermission by PJ Stock]. But the 1st round was pretty bad, total homerism especially after Brown nailed Sedin.

I don't know about that. I prefer the CBC feed than NBC.

I thought the NBC crew headed by Strader was the best in the playoffs. Hughson against teams other than the Canucks is good, although I don't like Glen Healy at all. Emerick started getting on my nerves pretty quick, although I usually don't mind him.

Wow, and to think I was complaining about a mere six hour delay for the Olympics. It's been five months!
