Most likely destinations of Getzlaf and Perry

Pretty simple, assuming these guys make it to free agency (I don't see why they wouldn't at least test the waters), where do you think are some likely destinations for either (or both)? Do you think that they will be pursued as a tandem?

Ducks fans, I apologize in advance because I'm sure you guys are angry at the thought that the Ducks could let either of these guys slip away.

Obviously this seems like typical Leafs fans optimism, but I could see Burke taking a serious run at Getzlaf. Couldn't be a more perfect fit, obviously we know Burke has had success with him in the past and the Leafs have the cap space. Who knows, maybe Burke will put his personal viewpoint on the backburner and actually offer what it takes to land a star UFA.

I think Perry stays in Anaheim simply because they'll refuse to let both of them go. Unless these guys both want out of Anaheim, I think Perry gets an offer he can't refuse to stay.

I don't see Getzlaf leaving as he's seen as the franchise player, his wife is from there, and he's the captain. I also don't think Perry will leave because he's best friends with Getz and he seems like a low profile type of guy. I think they both stay, but Perry is maybe slightly more likely to leave. I think it depends on the direction and quality of the team for Perry.

Realistically, they'll both stay. but if one leaves, the other will soon follow. Washington would be the sweetest option for us the fans, Ovie - Getz - Perry

both would be ideal targets for the leafs and they would fit the team. there is some connection there too with burke running things over there.

they have already won so they might as well break the bank

As long as RC is coach in Toronto you can kiss Perry or Getz going to Toronto goodbye. Plus how would Toronto be able to afford two $7 million if not $8 million dollar a year players?

Interesting, prior to the 10-11 season I also thought Getzlaf was the Ducks #1 guy with Perry being a close 2nd, but I thought the powers that be were frustrated with Getzlaf's effort lately, and obviously Perry had the Hart winning season. Theoretically if they could only keep one who do you think they'd go with?

I think they'll stay Ducks unless they get a hefty ****ing fee to leave.

Gotta keep these guys.

I'd hope for the ducks that they are discussing an extension already. Would be insane to let them go. Maybe burke can sell them on Toronto but 29 other teams would be interested too at right price.

Edit: when I bring up Burke I don't think it's likely, merely pointing out anything is possible but he'd have to be very fortunate for it all to work out that way.

Anaheim for both but if I had to pick another team for both, Getz would 110% not be Toronto. Perry maybe, but it's pretty obvious Getz doesn't like extra pressure.

Perry-Toronto/NYR
Getz-Tampa? Anaheim is literally the best spot for him.

Not worried about losing Getz at all, slightly worried about Perry tho

I'd hope it's the Ducks, would hate to see another team with a higher budget snake them away. It's bad for the NHL for players to switch to bigger market teams because of they can toss out huge options. Basically tells smaller market teams to f off.

I'll take "Massively overloaded at center" for $1,000 Alex.

Detroit would have Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Filppula at Center, plus Helm, and possibly Jarnkrok if he makes the jump next season.

Adding Getzlaf would give us four top six quality centers (Zetterberg is a wing but has been playing center for a long time now) and another one potentially in the making.

They'll both come to Buffalo to troll the Leafs.

With Shero trying to sign Parise and not having any luck with it, if Perry were to make it to free agency, pending Perry and some bum buddy of his wanting to play for some team together, Shero will likely set his sights on him.

Every team would offer them. Think you might be best off if you had the space to offer both. Realistically cannot see these guys leaving the Ducks. Actually surprised both aren't extended at this point in the summer.
