Huet returning?

According to this thread in the trade section, Huet is quoted as saying he's in talks for LA and Vancouver:

(article link to Huet quote in first post of thread).

I'd assume if he's coming back, it's because Bernier is going out.

Personally, while I'd rather keep Bernier, I don't think huet is the worst option to bring in. He really only got pushed out of the NHL due to his salary and was still at the minimum back-up worthy when he left. Not sure if his play's diminished over in Europe or not, but it's better than trading assests for a backup and Jones likely needs a full year in Manchester first.

I would totally be fine with Huet as the back-up. He is solid and can start whenever needed. Also he would be a lot cheaper than his last contract.

Reportedly (in the same thread as linked in OP) Huet just signed for 4 years in Switzerland, so unless he has an outclause, he's out of play.

Even if he has an out clause. Once he plays a game in Switzerland, he is subject to NHL waivers and won't get to pick his team.

If the Kings were to entertain the idea of signing a veteran third string goalie, like they did when they signed Jean-Sebastien Aubin years back, here is a list of UFA goalies who still remain unsigned:

With Niittymaki's health being a major concern, I'd say the only viable option from that list is Dan Ellis. I would pass on Ty Conklin and Brent Johnson as I don't think they have much left to offer. You could also stick a fork in Turco and Roloson.
