Jonathan Bernier

Do you see Jonathan Bernier being traded before the start of the season?

Not until Jonathan Quick is 100% ready coming from surgery.

No.

Quick just had surgery, and the stop gap of Huet signed in Switzerland.

Which teams do you see willing to paying the price you're hearing that LA wants for him. Not saying he isn't worth it just saying he hasn't been the number 1 so hard to pay the price

if its a first, and either a roster player (like hjalmarsson or kruger) or top prospect not named saad or Teräväinen I see the hawks jumping all over it. Goaltending is a huge concern, and while crawford has the potential to bounce back, hes got alot to prove while doing so. The hawks will also throw in emery if needed.

Sounds like Quick cannot train for at least 6 weeks, Jonathan Bernier isn't going anywhere for sometime.

Because of Quick injury, Bernier will get a chance to prove himself.
When Quick will return trading value for Bernier will be much higher.

the moment he is made available, expect a call from bowman.

Thats what i'd like to believe, anyway. would kill for him on the hawks.

Like everyone has been saying he's Staying till Quick is 100%..I see him going at the deadline and I see a team trading over value for him....

Prediction:
To Kings:Ray Emery
1st 2013
Jeremy Morin

To Hawks:Bernier
3rd 2013

This is assuming he does well...not saying he won't, but only time will tell. If he doesn't end up looking solid though, it may actually hurt his value a slight bit. His value, currently, is already pretty good so for it to be 'much higher' he is going to have to look pretty damn solid to go up so much as you're stating.

If he bombs, his value nosedives. With the Kings D, he better do well, or they won't get much for him.

Your not getting that for Bernier ,, If Hawks are offering a 1st + Morin at deadline it will be for a proven starter for playoff push not a unproven Bernier

If Bernier is still with the Kings by deadline he will be rarely used and his value wont be any better then it is now

As much as i do like morin the kings have 6 nhl lws right now so i really dont see them doing that. The kings would prefer to send bernier east or less of a stanley cup threat like blue jackets. I can only see them trading with chicago if it was a part of a bigger type deal

Emery sharp + for gagne lokti martinez bernier + plus being picks

Your not getting Sharp for ok role player (Martinez) , 2 kids who are nothing really but potential at this point (Bernier is not a legit #1 and Loki has struggled at NHL level) and a often injured winger and some picks

Lokti has only struggled because he was not playing the right postion with the right players around him. He needs to be and imo could be a second line center. He is stuck behind koptiar richards stoll ( carter would replace one of them if injuryed)

Matinez is a second paring defenseman on alot of teams again stuck behind better players (drew and slava)

bernier is the best option out there. Again if u think hes not a starter why is so many of ur fellow fans wanting him and saying at worst hes equal to what u already have ( crawford)

As for gagne he had off season surgury on his neck and is 100% healthy again frist time in years hes felt this good (his own words) overall i say the hawks would improve while the kings finally get there number one lw

i'm usually in agreement with your posts, but this time i think thats exactly what the hawks give up. As the hawks have sharp and saad above morin for the top 2 LW spots, and kane + hossa securing the RW, morin is a piece i'm willing to give up with a first for a guy with that much potential locked behind Quick. personally, i'd take that deal and run.

For a proven starter, the Hawks might be willing to add.

For an unproven starter like Bernier, that's already a strong package. Consider that Halak coming off of Montreal's Cinderella run in 2010 only netted two good (not blue chip) prospects. Bernier, for all of his potential, still doesn't have anything on his resume that's even close to Halak's in 2010, so shouldn't be worth a package larger than that.

If Bernier will prove himself I see him going at the deadline for assets Kings needed and not to Chicago.
Hi will get to Kings something close to what Varlamov did to Washington.

Or much lower...let's not pretend that there's any guarantee that Bernier makes the jump...he's been pretty unimpressive at the NHL level thus far.

Playing behind a Stanley Cup hangover team likely won't help either.

He may do well but I think the odds are just as good that he isn't ready yet.

It may have been mentioned, but I think Quicks injury could allow Bernier to up his value.

If he plays like he did last season or worse, his value just went down the drain, and you will basically have to give him up for scraps.

I garuntee by the 2013-14 season, he will not be a king, but from the time Quick gets back from surgery and the Deadline hes gonna get traded,

Possibilities: Calgary, Chicago, Edmonton, NJD, NYI, San Jose and Toronto

He listed that he wanted to be closer to home

Chicago, NJD, NYI and Toronto

What does LA need? Their basically full, they will just trade for draft pick and prospects

Chicago: Emery, Morin and 1st 2013 for Bernier

NJD: Larsson for Bernier and 4th

NYI: Strome and Bailey

Toronto: Kadri and 3rd
