Did a test lottery, and just be thankful Edmonton didn't win it (but Detroit somehow did )

Did this, mostly for my own enjoyment, but you can too!

This exactly true because the last go round with this sort of lottery had a financially struggling franchise win it.

I'm just more bitter than usual of late 'cause for way too many people, the solution to "we might all lose hockey for a while!" is "just take away hockey forever for these other second-class fans, they won't miss it."
i think columbus has a decent fanbase, and saying they suck is not meant as an insult towards the fans. they will get high draft picks and they will improve eventually. I'm a Jaguars fan, trust me i know how it feels, but im also willing to openly admit that they suck. at least in hockey bad teams have a better chance to improve than football.

Not necessarily (since it's demonstrably true in this case), but the "nobody cares about them" immediately after that comment IS an insult towards the fans. It's an implication that either we don't exist, or we don't matter and are easily dismissable.

well i see how you could take it like that, however i really intended to say that they won't be a playoff threat, hence why people wouldn't care about their team next year.

I don't quite think you're following me, here.

Getting regularly dismissed as unimportant and meaningless is exactly why we're constantly at the top of every contraction/relocation list. This is a very sore issue for pretty much every Jackets fan. It's the equivalent of, say, telling an Oil fan about how the weather is g-dawful up there, or mentioning riots to a Habs or Canucks fan. It's just not kosher.

Pick 6: St. Louis Blues - Elias Lindholm

Just did it for fun, I know that other than the top 2 (and 10 to a lesser extent, even though Lazar should be much higher) isn't how it will likely turn out.

My biggest isssuevwith thisvlottery ball system, things like Minnesota for example wins free agency, has had high picks recently, and gets a top chance at #1 ?? They need to have a system that gives number of lottery balls based on the season projections to keep the league competitive when hockey does resume. Wouldn't that be more fair or am I on another planet here??

Consideration should be given to last Stanley Cup win, last top pick (or top 3 or 5) as well as last 2 or 3 years success rate. Start with 1 ball for everyone...then..... No Stanley Cup? One ball. No number 1, 2 or 3 pick in last ten years? 1 ball. For each year out of playoffs in last 3 years-1 ball. No jiggery poker to save Phoenix or whoever!
