when we do this poll mid season, girgs could be #1 by then
Yeah, it could be him vaulting guys and landing at #1 -- just imagine if he makes the team out of camp. And honestly, when was the last time they had horses this deep into the field when we're talking studs down to #6? NHLers down to 11 or 12?

I went with Pysyk, though it was really close between him, Girgs, Foligno, and McNabb. Kid just strikes me as a really smooth, smart hockey player, and I have to like the odds of a smart player becoming a really good one.

Add Kea.

I feel silly for not being more aware of just how good McNabb's statline was this past season. At this point it's clear Girgs is gonna win this round so it doesn't matter much, but honestly I'd change my vote from Girgs to McNabb if I could. I didn't realize just HOW good a statistical season McNabb had down in Rochester.

This is why Foligno.

Weren't we down 3-0 at one point? It's been a long while waiting for a Sabre who simply refused to let his team lose a game. He crushed Gunnarsson, pounded Frattin, and used Jedi Mind Power to put Komisarek on the ice and took the pook to the net for Leo's tying goal.

Even though Foligno was a 7.0D not long ago, he gets an A from me now. He's showed something at the highest level and we may have to revise that upside.

McNabb, tough add here - Navin looks like he adapted well to top collegiate competition. Ullmark has to make it to the SEL before I can see what he does against the top competition.

Foligno's play last year was awesome, but I don't think his upside is really all that high. He'll be a quality NHLer for years and the kind of player you love to have on your team, but I don't think his upside is any higher than that of a third-line player that can play in the top six if needed. Akin to his brother.

I went McNabb here. Add Kea.

Bit off topic, but what you just said is why I am really excited for the Sabres. Add the pipeline depth, both quality and quantity, to who's already on the roster, and 2014-onward looks very, very bright.

My vote here would've been for Girgensons with Knapp as the add.
