Timmins is just one of a few. And I think it's a bit premature to read too much into Habs developmemt focus based on one sentence in an article that is about one player, and a low draft pick to boot[/QUOTE]

Don't you think that with only 7 draft rounds each year that each and every one is important? What determines sucess is getting the most from every pick.

Glad to read that Leblanc has been adding more muscle to his frame!

I'll be watching him closely this year

Nice to see that Hudon is getting ample attention from the Habs development team. Having one of ours on the WJC team always makes the tournament more interesting.

I hope Bartlett's not just blowing smoke about LL bulking up. I've heard reports to the contrary from people who have seen him around town (though these reports are hard to qualify). Getting thicker and stronger is crucial to Louis' season. Hope he's putting in the work.

How tall is Hudon anyway? TSN has him at 5'10 while I read somewhere else that he was 5'6.

Maybe TSN is counting skates . . .

I could see LeBlanc potting 40 pts this year given the right treatment.

Pacioretty - Desharnais - Cole

Armstrong - Plekanec - Gionta

Bourque - Eller - LeBlanc

Moen - White - Prust

He should be. This is what I got from TSN

http://www.tsn.ca/world_jrs/story/?id=403004

Goaltender Maxime Lagace, defencemen Dougie Hamilton, Xavier Ouellet and Griffin Reinhart and forwards Brendan Leipsic and Hunter Shinkaruk will not suit up for Canada tonight.

Thanks. Too bad about Hamilton though.

It's easily his biggest weakness, which is kind of good in a way. Skating can be improved much more easily than hockey sense, stick handling, and a shot. He does need work on his shot a bit, but it's not an overwhelming weakness, just not NHL standards yet.

He has had a rough couple of games, he scored the winner in game 1 but was mostly bad during that game. I hope he ends up a bust

Lapointe was a tank. I don't think Hudon has the same frame.

Not so much his skating than his skating relative to his size.

Yeah Hudon doesn't have the same kind of frame, he's really not as wide shouldered and as ''compact'' as Lapointe was at that age. The vast majority of his bulking up process will be centered around his legs and lower body strength.
As far as Leblanc is concern he would really need to get to 190-195 pounds if he wants to play the kind of game that he needs to play to stay in the NHL...As Ridiculous as it might sound to put so much emphasis on that one aspect I really feel it's a ''make or break'' factor for him, his offensive game in particular will only go as far as his strength will take it.

I don't really care too much about Hudon's size. What he needs to be in order to be effective at the NHL level at his size is either smart, fast, or both.

He doesn't seem to be exceptionally fast currently, but reports have been positive regarding him being smart.

Agreed, by playing shape, I mean putting on proportionately what Lapointe put on, from draft to playing days, so something like 15 lbs. I also agree that his game does not require Lapointe-type bulk, but it does need better balance and the ability to resist to hits that inexorably will target him.
