I can't seem to understand one thing. How come no fan ever has Kadri in their starting lineup. He can't be that bad.

Grabo's a great #2 C, we have no need to upgrade at that slot. We'd be looking for an upgrade over Bozak.

There is no key to success, just because you get a "number one center" doesn't mean you are a shoe in to make the playoffs. Keep you assets and wait for some minor pieces to fall into place. It's worth waiting a few more years than shipping off your only assets to get bounced in the first round.

He's not bad at all almost a PPG in the AHL his two way game has improved as well. A lot of leaf fans think because he hasnt become a fulltime NHL er by now that he never will. I see him as a strong option as a 2c center next year while being a decent contributer this year. Also this is just another #1 center to toronto thread because improving on a high end 2c means obtaining a 1c.

If I was the coach of the Leafs, and at the start of the year we had the same roster as now here would be my line combos:

Lupul-Bozak-Kessel
JVR-Grabo-Frattin/Kadri
Kulemin-Mcclement-Macarthur
Komarov-Steckel-Brown

Connolly, and Lombardi scratched or in the minors. The Leafs have a logjam up front, with 15 bodies fighting for jobs. The general belief is that only one of Kadri or Frattin will make the team, and Frattin outplayed Kadri last season in both the NHL and AHL. He is also more physical, so is better suited to a non top-6 role than Kadri. Of course, Frattin is injured and is likely to miss the start of the season so Kadri will most likely start the year with the Leafs.

As an aside, I do believe that Kadri will be a very good top-6 forward one day (perhaps as soon as this year). He's only 21 years old.

Bozak is a cheap RH center(don't have those), has decent NHL size and has chemistry with Kessel Lupul and Kulemin.

Bozak is a fine second line center if we can get an top 6 upgrade for Grabs(ie #1 center)

First deal is terrible for Ottawa.

Second deal is Terrible for the Leafs.

Third deal neither team does unless Tampa thinks the Leafs will be a lottery/ top-5 pick. Leafs don't do it anyway.

Bozak put up 47 points between Lupul and Kessel who were both PPG players last year. His numbers were likely highly inflated.

You're forgetting the fact that we signed grabovski to a 5 year contract with a limited NTC just 6 months ago; he's not getting traded any time soon.

Too bad Connolly, Lombardi, couldn't get inflated numbers, if you can get a cheap center to make Lupul and Kessel PPG players, wouldn't you do it? Especially if said center has chemistry with other wingers on the team when you need to switch things up. And said center is a RH center specialist(something your team lacks).

#2 center is one of the last spots we need to upgrade. Grabovski is already a top-of-the-line #2 center.

Jason Krog was well over a PPG in the AHL but what did he do in the NHL

Some players are just way too good for the A but not good enough for the big club

Are you serious?

Center with the 3rd most points last year and a 1st for a guy that will likely never be more than a 3rd liner, a 2nd, and Grabovski who is a decent 2nd liner...

100% serious. Grabovski is a superstar, acquiring him will definately push us over the top. Our first will no doubt be 29 - 30 if we make this deal. Adding Colbourne is almost ripping them off.

They get an overpaid slug like Spezza, who has only achieved his status as a 'top centre' by playing with generational talents like Colin Greening. Their second will be 31-35, basically a wash. Only trying to be fair to them.

I see what your saying but comparing Jason Krog lol with nazem kadri is a joke. Krog may have been very good offensively but went un drafted. He also put up those big numbers pre lockout when players numbers on average were inflated and drafting was a lot poorer then it is today. I could sight another player that kadri matches up with in regards to numbers and how long it has taken to crack the nhl roster, bobby ryan but comparing kadri to ryan at this point would be as stupid as comparing him to jason freaking krog. Next time you want to troll a player on the leafs remember that when a team has been as bad as ours for so long were used to the trolling which has allowed us as a fan base to become quite good at defending our players.

You do realize Krog was a Hobey Baker winner?

Its not exactly like he was some scrub, a lot of really talented players that go the college route just dont get drafted... Rich Peverley, MSL, etc.

Im not trolling, you are acting like Krog is a bum, which is just pretty ignorant to the facts aha. And like I said Krog's numbers were even better than Kadri's

Lupul and Biggs for Stasny. I'm not a Avs fan or Leafs fan, but I know that if the Avs want to trade Stasny, it would have to be an upgrade from what they already have. Leafs can remove Biggs from the deal though of they feel that it's necessary since I know that you guys are high on Lupul.
