Yeah I know what you mean. Kinda like the same way Subban was thrown into that #1 dman role in his rookie year when all your best guys went down with injury. Subban, like Hall, didn't really have to compete for that position because they really had no other guys who could do the job. This is part of the reason why I'm hesitant on calling either of these players, as well as Pacioretty, a star just yet because I don't want to label them with the title before they've fully had a chance to earn it. Budding or potential stars sounds more fitting for this point in their careers.

Markov is a star for sure he's the best russian D in the league.

Erik Cole played like a superstar for us last year.

And like you said PK/Pac could be superstars if they produce well and goes to all star games.

PK has star qualities and will be a superstar at some point. Not sure about Patches but I think he will be a solid piece not a star maybe one all star year.

And with Galchenyuk coming up shining brighter than them all. Not sure if he can surpass Price though should he live up to his franchise player billing.
