ctvolympics.ca had full event replays during the games, not sure about now though.

Ditto. Still remember packing into a full elevator to work the morning-after, and the proud feeling I got when someone whispered... "So... we're champions."

They still have full replays of all the events. They want all the advertising dollars they can get from their online streams, so they'll keep them around for a while.

Looking back the Opening Ceremony was rather crap in very big parts, at times it felt like they blew the budget early and had to run the rest on what they could make from passing the hat around at the pub.

I enjoyed the closing one much more. It was awesome. Sure a few of the old geezers could barely sing anymore, sound in the stadium was hard to understand at times, but those things didn't seem to matter. So many songs about London. Just needed more Lily Allen

This was the first year where I really got wrapped up in the emotions of the games.

LDN isn't a particularly positive song about London ...

I just got shivers watching those 2010 gold medal performances. It could not have been capped off in a better way than the Crosby golden goal. I still remember watching it and everyone at my workplace erupting when that goal happened. It was just unreal.

I'd imagine that just about everyone in the country knew where they were when that goal happened.

Guessing they didn't want to Milli Vanilli it with the rest of the acts. Apparently that is why Noel Gallagher refused to attend, he thought it was a con. I was wondering why the athletes weren't getting into during the night, read the couldn't hear as the speakers were set to the crowd and by passed them.

Upon further review...this was NOT the worst games ever.
1904 in St. Louis was marginally worse.

I don't know if any Olympics will match 2010 in Vancouver for me. The combination of it being in our backyard, Canada winning the most Golds they'd ever won (Owning the Podium, if you will), and the climactic Golden Goal...it was the perfect storm.
