Prospect poll, 2012: #16

Dillon Fournier squeaks through. Dunno, this guy just reeks of overbloated QMJHL offensive stats to me and I don't think I'd ever trust the health of someone who has already had shoulder surgery before even signing his first contract. Hope for the best but not expecting much and didn't like this pick when the Hawks made it last month, this seems a lot like the Lalonde pick to me.

Dillon Fournier

#1: Brandon Saad, LW (81.82%)
#2: Teuvo Teravainen, LW/C (59.62%)
#3: Mark McNeill, C (48.00%)
#4: Jeremy Morin, LW (36.84%)
#5: Dylan Olsen, D (40.74%)
#6: Phillip Danault, C (44.12%)
#7: Brandon Pirri, C (41.86%)
#8: Kyle Beach, LW (30.19%)
#9: Adam Clendening, D (43.75%)
#10: Stephen Johns, D (27.78%)
#11: Kevin Hayes, RW (50.00%)
#12: Jimmy Hayes, RW (55.17%)
#13: Ben Smith, RW/LW (28.57%)
#14: Chris Calnan, RW (22.58%)
#15: Dillon Fournier, D (26.32%)

How many damn prospects named Mattson, Mattsson, Maaaaatttsssonn do we need anyways? I didn't even know we had a goalie in the system named that.

I'll remove Hutton but only because there is no chance anyone votes for him in any event. He is as much a prospect as many of the others, and has actually received an NHL contract in his history, more than most these guys will be able to say.

Went with Klas again

His experience in SEL and talent make him a safer bet to reach the NHL at some point in some role then rest of list

Joakim Nordstrom.

His play at the WJC last year really impressed me, I think hes a future Bolland without the nasty side.

nah, he grabbed my beer out of my hand and I thought he was joking around so I asked for it back and he said "**** you ******" and shoved me and I was like "bro, give me my beer back" and he shoved me again and said "what are you gonna do ******" so I cocked him in the jaw and got on top of him and put him in a headlock then his friend started kicking me in the face.

EIU for you.

EDIT: its not like I'm big on fighting either, that was like the third fight I had ever been in.

Going with Holl here. (though I've been tempted to vote for Shalunov based off potential alone the last three votes now)

In the spirit of Hawk Harrelson, after the top 3, "that's trouble".

You don't get between a man and his beer. Now the other guy, probably just having a hard time dealing with the fact that high school football is over and he's going to be a loser the rest of his life. And can you really blame him? That's a tough pill to swallow. The third guy, the one that jumped into a fair fight and kicked madgoat in the face, that guy can burn in hell as far as I am concerned. What a ***** move, I hate that ****.

Going Whitney again, have been for about 3 or 4 rounds.

I totally agree with that summary of Fournier above. When I think that they couldv'e had Dalton Thrower instead, it kills me. They definitely need someone like Thrower more. This was a case where the head scout got a hard on for somebody and wants to try and make his mark. Another wasted 2nd round pick, IMO.

Dahlbeck. Reminds me of Kukkonnen.

They need a 5'11" Dman who plays physical but is prone to mistakes? I liked Thrower, I wouldn't have had a problem with him in the 2nd round but the difference between Fournier and him is marginal and, considering Fournier has a size advantage and has above-average skating (for anyone, nevermind being 6'2"), I'll take Fournier carving out a decent NHL career over Thrower.
