Well the defense is done. I look at all the forwards left that's capable of 30+ points and there's a huge list, but if I look at defensemen, there's really not much. Logic told me to focus on defensemen down the stretch.

Can you swap Galchenyuk and Cervenka on my lineup? Galchenyuk is going to be a scratch.

You mean Galchenyuk will be on your bench? That's a big risk for a prospect don't you think? You could potentially lose him if he plays 50 games.

Correct me if I am wrong but he can't lose him as a prospect as he was chosen as a player and not a prospect so he can't lose him but he has limited his bench.

He can drop him on waivers and get someone else once were live on yahoo. Otherwise let him sit and waste a roster spot.

I assume he wants him to be a keeper so dropping him seems like a waste.

If I recall, a prospect drafted in the prospect draft is lost after the prospect plays 50 regular season games in the NHL.

I'm assuming it goes as follows: if Galy was selected in the prospect draft and only plays 25 NHL games, is he considered a prospect until he plays another 25 games. After 50 games he's eligible for a keeper, or otherwise lost to free agency. Prospects drafted in the regular draft are lost after a season regardless of the games they played, unless used a keeper.

I'm not sure if our prospects earn points for our weekly stats if they actually play in the NHL, and likewise for bench players, I'm not sure if any stats they earn help each week while on the bench.

I thought we were doing a prospect draft and only had 2 or 3 prospect spots meaning Galy would be considered a player no matter what.

Yeah I got in confused during my post. I fixed what I meant. Galy would be a player no matter what, where prospects are protected until 50 games. There was muttering about RFAs too I believe.

But since he was taken in the normal draft he must be on the roster and not the prospect roster correct? So he won't lose him as a prospect after 50 games since he can't be one?

Yeah he's either a keeper or lost to UFA after this year regardless of how many games he plays in the NHL. That was the risk about drafting a prospect in the regular draft.

Yeah sorry . When I saw that Galy was scratched, I got confused myself because he's an NHL prospect. I started thinking that those 50 games would be wasted on the bench

We're using Yahoo as a guide for player's positions. We've been using yahoo this whole time and there's a link on the first page of the draft thread that shows likely position. If you have a congestion of centres, you can trade them for wingers before the start of the season, or otherwise have them on the bench or waive them.

Dude i'm saying that there's a better chance they both play wing so i want them to be my wingers not my bench Centers.

It doesn't matter. I was just confirming the rules to you. If Yahoo says you have 6 centres, then 2 players will be benched. But we'll know more starting the season. Just a heads up.

It's not fair to those who made sure to have a fair, well rounded roster because they were cognitive of the rules. If somebody drafts a whole team of Right Winger stars because they were the best players available, then they deserve to have some benched. If they don't like it, they'll find some website, such as NHL, team sites, CBS sports, ESPN line-ups, Hockeybuzz to support reasons as to why their line-up should be a certain way. To avoid this, Yahoo was used as the standard, hence it was posted in the first page of the draft thread.
