I can see why Max signed such a seemingly team friendly deal. He was inches away from being paralyzed for life.

Nothing is guaranteed is probably what he's thinking. He just secured his financial future (and his family's) for decades.

Yea but look at it in a few years. He could very well be worth a 1/1.5 mil more.

He had 24pts in 37 games , including 14 goals , 2 years ago before getting killed by Chara. He improved on his ppg last season with 33 goals - 65 pts , is only 23 and still has (and will) room to improve. 5-5.5m wouldnt have been bad at all*considering all that imho.

Its all moot anyway since its 4.5m which is fantastic.

We're... we're just not used to this... seeing the Habs sign a steal of a contract! Marc Bergevin is the man!

Pacs is a career Hab because of this, some of u haven't totally grasped this I feel. The kid is ours, and he will score while hitting and driving to the net AKA the perfect winger for Galchenyuk. I envision them on team USA 2018 playing on the same line.

The way this fan base, and the city as a whole, reacted after what happened, it really had an impact on Pacioretty and his opinion on Montreal. He truly loves the city and it's great to continue locking up players that want to be a part of not only this team, but this city too.

I also like how we don't have Price and Pacioretty being UFA's at the exact same time.

Which is why Subban at 5 years makes the most sense, IMO.

4.5M for a 30-30 (or better) power forward? With great character? Until 2019? On my Habs?

while everyone, not surprisingly, is creaming themselves over the cap hit (4.5M)...I think the more important factor is the 6 years

I couldn't careless about cap hits anymore, but knowing a core member is locked up for the forseable future is great news.

one thing is for sure...all jr. capologists will sleep great tonight knowing Pacioretty is locked up at 4.5 per and not 5.5...lol

Very, very happy that he signed this contract. Nice cap hit and it eats a lot of UFA years. Thats one guy who's proud to be a Hab and he makes Habs fans proud as well.

Apparently it was crazy, she gave him her number and asked him to maybe give her a call.

Was Patches shirtless mowing her lawn or something like that when she gave him the #?

Habs fans should know that @MaxPacioretty67 wants to be in Montreal and agreed to a cap friendly long-term deal to help the team win.

Per his agent.

Terrifyingly good deal.....I prefer it when you guys overpay. That being said, he's a great player(and a good team guy apparently for accepting this)....looking forward(hopefully) to some great games between us this year.

apparently so lol...

the best part was reading all the delayed reactions in this thread and on twitter while we were all waiting for the dollar figures to be announced...as though signing Pacioretty for 6 years wasn't good enough in the first place lol
