Ogie, my man, he's our first rounder from this past draft.

I think just like Jensen last yr in training camp, AV is really going to take a liking to Gaunce. I think he skates a lot better than people think, he's physically mature enough to make a solid push, and knows how to play both ends of the ice.
Realistically, he's likely at least two seasons removed from a gig with the 'Nucks...

Hockey Prospectus was saying he was fit enough to play in the NHL when he was drafted, so it'll be interesting to see how he does after a long summer with Roberts and Ganger.

I don't think he makes the team but I'm intrigued to watch him in the pre-season.

Can you blame the fans, after what happened with Cody "Future Captain" Hodgson?

I guess I should have used the sarcasm face.

Anyway, I think he was a good pick, and was very glad he fell to us. Realistically, I don't think we see him with the Canucks, full-time, for 3 or 4 years, but I see an upside as the Joel Otto we always wanted but never managed to draft or develop (*cough*Libor Polasek*cough*)

You're seeing more 1st round picks than usual sign very quickly this summer. I think their agents are pushing to get these entry deals done, including bonus structures, before something they don't like appears in the next CBA regarding entry-level deals.

Would definitely have more impact than Sutter, Roy, Di Giuseppe, and probably Wilson.

So versatile, having him and Boone Jenner out there in 3rd line energy situations would be excellent.

Not to mention Canada is pretty small up front, his size would help -Team Russia looks pretty big.

i played basketball with a kid in my school who was 215 and muscular at 16 and he didnt have elite athlete level help

edit: that size is good though. means he wont suffer setbacks in his agility and skating as he puts on weight
