A ref I work with who got emergency call to line an EIHL game once said it was an honour to be ranted at by Tony Hand after he blew the whistle because he forgot they play touch-icing in that league
Scottish Cup to go Sept 1st and 2nd at Fife Arena.
This is one of the main reasons I think for the conference split. The Scottish teams saw much higher attendance for games between themselves.
Renewed rivalries between Fife, Dundee, Braehead (previously Paisley) and of course the many incarnations of Edinburgh/Murrayfield teams.
Doing a little research of Brit hockey.
There was a team Durham Wasps that had success in the day, An ENL team was formed 4-5 years ago.
Anybody know what happened in Durham?
In '96 they lost their rink and that was the end of them. There are some hockey fans there that went to Whitley and some the Newcastle but mostly their fans just stopped watching hockey, some say of there was a new rink put in, that Durham would be a hockey hub once again.

If I remember, John Hall, a local businessman, bought out the team and moved them to Newcastle. He also bought the Newcastle rugby team and, I think, moved the Sunderland basketball team to Newcastle. He also owned the football club. Basically that was the reason the Durham icerink shut down. That was my recollection of what happened, anyway
Wightlink Raiders sign Jiri Hanzal from Edinburgh.
I never knew his brother was Martin Hanzal
Will be one of the best players in NIHL1 south, the standard of this league is looking very good for next season, except Gosport are going to get annihilated every game.
Looks like Brit hockey will be okay this season.
10 Elite League
10 Premier League
37 National League
9 Scottish League
66 teams and they all have jr levels
It isn't a very good source. It appears to be the official website but all the PR says is "British player Rob Farmer will no longer play for Arystan, where he will continue his career is unknown" and then there's a bunch of fan comments asking why
The google chrome translation is terrible but from my limited knowledge of Russian I can make out that it says they didn't want him anymore and he played in a pre-season tournament. Which is odd because I find it unlikely he wasn't good enough since the EIHL is a better league.

Edited, I got mixed up with a different Czech/Slovak import
Fife's new goalie looks pretty good too
Anybody have any idea how good his bro is? We've signed him too apparently. Looks like he can stick up for himself and his team, but we'll probably be relying on his points more than anything?
We've also signed a guy called Casey Haines who looks decent.

Has some AHL call ups so looks good. Unfortunately Fife are going to need a couple more guys like that to be competitive this year.
