Unless we can get 7 out of 9 points against KC I don't know if catching San Jose will be possible without KC getting in the way as well. I'd be happy with just finishing atop the East and having home field against any team except Son Jose in the final. Of course getting the supporters shield and a Champions League bid would be nice too.

I wonder what excuse Portland fans have now...last year they were so high and mighty because of their home record...I don't see any of them talking any more. I hope they blow them out.

I don't know if we can catch San Jose for the SS tho...maybe Wondo's stint with the National team and him not scoring...again...will cool him off...

So story time. As some may know Heck was a large Giants and Rangers fan and loved to compare the Red Bulls to the other major NY teams. He once predicted that that Chicago game that was at 1 on a Wednesday would out sell the Yankees 1 a clock game the same day. We all know how that ended. At times it seemed he was more concerned about catching New York teams that were miles ahead of him than just focusing on the simple things to improve the team.

To add to this he wanted the team to have its own identity and to add to that, it's own "NY" logo. So here it is. Hopefully now

As stupid as it sounds I like it. Not necessarily that logo, but I like the idea of having a logo other than the red bull badge. Red bull would never go for it but I'd love to see a regular new York logo on the jerseys with the red bull ad on front of the shirt. I always said their merchandise sucked because everything has the full rbny logo on it. Why not play around with variations of just the bulls on a shirt or something like that.

And does he realize that even if we sold that game out the Yankees woul probably double our attendance on the day...?

To continue my long****ingpost from the end of the last thread...

Here's a nice article from (gasp, I can't believe I'm linking them) ESPN about the USWNT generating the required momentum for a league...

I like the idea as well but not a particular fan of said logo. The horn cut out in the Y is a nice touch but as several people pointed out, the font is too close to what the Giants use. I honestly have no idea how far this logo got and with Heck out I'd assume it's officially dead.

If we somehow sold out the Chicago game we may have had a chance to top the Yankees. I never checked what the Yankees reported that day but it was never happening.

The rangers are the only area team that doesn't have an ny logo. Even the Knicks use that "nyk" and used the Yankees ny in orange in the '60's or '70's.

That better be wrong. Selling a star player to a big rival is never a smart move. Arsene isn't nearly that crazy.

Everything I've seen says it hasn't happened yet, but might.

Not quite true. The Rangers have an "NYR" logo that they use, albeit not on jerseys. It's the same "NYR" that is on the Statue of Liberty logo. It is used though for promo purposes and on some gear. Just not an official game jersey logo.

We can get him in there next year through group stages if we qualify, but even now he wouldn't be in a potential final barring a short term contract extension.

Yeah it's gotta happen this year. If we were to make it far enough, he'd sign no doubt.

I'm losing track of time haha. How log is left on his and Rafa's deals?

I think Thierry's ends at the end of next season, December 31st, and I think Rafa expires the June 31st after that. Its believed Rafa wants to play to 2014 Brazil and up to that point only. He would retire after that world cup. Guy is probably pissed he wasn't a part of the gold medal effort.

He was injured. Though I'm sure he would tough it out for that.

Ugh, it saddens me to think of the day that Titi leaves us

If healthy, I bet they'd take him over Salcido. I read Mexican boards every now and then and they all value Rafa over him. I really hope that after this season, we can get rid of him.
