Has anyone seen him play, and any comments?

Is there such a thing as a Luca Ciampini hat trick? (anyone remember this...?)

From what I know he was considered a top prospect going into the Q Draft because he could score and worked hard to have a solid two-way game. Not sure what his role is in Halifax, but since their solid it may be more limited. Last year he had 35 points in 68 games..oh and this:

I've heard hes a solid player but haven't seen him play. He is born in Montreal, so that's a good sign, and i believe his family is of Italian decent that moved to Switzerland, now in Canada. I could be wrong though.

Pretty good offensive positioning and some solid hands in some of these highlights. Looks like he can finish a bit.

The Luca Caputi hat trick? Yeah. I remember that.

As for the player? No Idea. Just wanted to post that.

What was it, anyway? I seem to remember Caputi scoring a goal, then taking a penalty that allowed the Habs to score... and then a shot in OT deflected off of him and Montreal won because of it?

I don't quite recall either, but I do believe it was something along those lines... I think if no one remembers here a thread on the Leafs board might be in order!

Oh yeah! I forgot he played there, since he had "Top 6 potential" once he was with the Leafs. Who would trade such a surefire beast?

I think this guy played for Chateauguay in Junior A or whatever is below the Q. I feel as though I've seen him post on Facebook before.

He wasn't very noticeable when I watched Halifax.. but then again I had my eyes on other much more exciting players. Not sure if he gets anything beyond a tryout.

Mooseheads fan here, watched him numerous times. Yes I'm a Leafs fan but will givean opinion since he plays on my Q team

His biggest plus is his shot. At 6 years old he could pick corners but honestly besides that he is nothing special. His skating is terrible. Yes he had hype, hence why we picked him 2nd overall but his negatives have been exposed big time.

For those arguing playing on a good team limited his scoring, that simply isn't true. Frk and Drouin didn't play until December, Frk was hurt, Drouin stayed in Quebec (the province, not league). IIRC he was playing with Mackinnon at the start of the year. Think he had time with Critchlow as well. He just couldn't last. Our top guys for the most part are 16 so since he is older should beat them in I ice time but started playing on the third line after awhile.

Never seen someone have hype then suddenly be exposed this bad. It's a shame, I was excited when we picked him tbh

Jagr,

good luck in your try out , i hope you get signed by Habs.

Nothing to lose for Habs ,could turn into some good, and a hometown boy to boot.

We all thought he was going to be amazing here.

He's been a huge bust in halifax so far. Was seen as a potential top 60 pick before the season and completely flopped.
