You think the Dallas Stars are 17 points better than the Nashville Predators?

Otherwise good list and I agree with Phoenix falling out, though I'm not sure if I'd go as far to say they'll place 14th.

I don't think the Blues will win their division again. I don't think Dallas will do that well, either. And for whatever reason, betting against Phoenix to pull a rabbit out of their collective hat every season never works.

11.Edmonton

8.Minnesota

Even if you switched them, I still couldnt take that list seriously. Edmonton will be a 6 seed or better, and Minny wont even make the playoffs under Yeo. Parise may as well coach the Wild, since he actually came from a real system.

You're overrating the oilers severely. Right now they aren't experienced or good enough to place 6th, or higher. 8th is a stretch too, I see them definitely in the playoff race.

Like the list though, I dont know why everyone is giving up on the preds. I havr faith in trotz and I still see them fighting for a playoff spot.

Solid list. Personally I think Calgary does a bit better and LA a bit worse, but still, pretty good.

1. Van
2. STL
3. Kings
4.Nashville
5.Chicago
6.SJ
7.Phx
8.Dallas

Detroit will be slotted anywhere from the 6th seed to the 10th seed which is why i left them out. They have the experience, but the talent just isnt there anymore.

in my opinion minnesota at 8 and edmonton at 11 is a very reasonable assesment, if anything I'd move the wild up and the oil down.

More Wild bashing I see. Get over Parise leaving already, it would do you some good.

Your ignorance of the Wild and Yeo is astounding.

The Western Conference is a complete crap shoot.
The only safe bets for the POs are Vancouver, St. Louis, LA and Chicago. The remainig 4 spots can fall to every team left (Ok, I'd have to think twice about Columbus. As much as I like them, I can't see them reaching the POs).
Anaheim, Phoenix, Dallas, Detroit, San Jose, Nashville, Calgary, Edmonton and Minnesota... they all have the potential to reach the playoffs.
But they all could fail terribly, too.

Even as a Kings fan, I don't see the Kings as the #1 seed, more like 2/3 battling with STL or CHI.

And my god is Dallas overrated, it's as if they're getting pre-2006 Jagr.

Here is how I look at it:

1. VAN
2. CHI/STL
3. LA
4. STL/CHI
5. SJ
6. DET
7. MIN
8. PHX (Tippett always finds a way)

DAL, CGY, COL and NSH will also be very much in on those last 2 or 3 spots.

I see the Canucks third (as of right now). I think LA and St.Louis/or Chicago will be ahead.

Seeing all the high praise and top prediction potential for the Kings just makes me that much more pissed about the looming lockout.

12. Nashville.

Every single year the Preds are predicted anywhere between 9-14. Doesn't anyone learn anything?

Why not? Detroit and Nashville both got worse, Chicago didn't improve much and St. Louis gained a year of experience and added Tarasenko. I don't think they will be able to surprise teams again and I don't know if they will do as well next year but I just can't see any of those other teams knocking them off this year.

Losing Suter doesn't put you down that low...You still have the best defenseman and 2nd best goalie in the league...

A very, very meh offense but still.. They can get it done.
