Nepean Raiders vs Gloucester Rangers exhibition game last evening, anyone attend ?
What do the teams look like ?
Even if game was last night it probably would not give much of an indication how either team would look this season. Games this early are basically "midget" games with very few "roster" players dressed.

Then the Jr. B exhibition games are basically "Major Bantam" games. Is that possible ? Ottawa Guy would know.
I would be shocked if there were any Roster players playing for Nepean. Peter Goulet had 8 teams on the weekend for the start of his "main" camp. He will probably give almost everyone who attended the camp at least 1 exb. game, he did last year. I think it will be at least one more week before you start seeing many Roster players.
Looks like more cchl alumni in Major Junior exhibition. D Owen Werthner (92) and F Connor Currie (94) are on Pei Rocket's pre season roster. Good luck boys
We had 60+ skaters/kids last weekend at the opening of camp. Pointstreak will demonstrate that we had no regulars in the lineup last night vs. Gloucester. No need to worry about Nepean this year.
Most teams haven't even arrived yet. CP for example reports next Thursday and has a Friday game vs. SF.
Plenty of time for decision making when you start as early as we do. PG knows what he's doing! When you give all the kids a chance to play in an exhibition game they keep coming back year after year and spread the word. Why else would Nepean get 8 teams for a main camp in early August!
The real hockey will begin shortly. Enjoy and best of luck to all!

I hope these kids were not charged again to try and make this team. Enough is enough if they were.

Nepean and Gloucester start early because they invite every A , AA and AAA kids in the ottawa region to the camp with the promise of atleast 1 exhibition game . The result of that is what you saw last night , Kids that didnt get a single practice with the coaches , only intra-squad games . The league should have a rule where teams can only invite between 40-50 players to its august camp and you wouldnt see such bad hockey .

When it comes to Camps no other teams use them for as big a fundraiser as Nepean. In 2011 they had something like 14 teams at one of their camps. Personally I am not a big fan of that model, especially when you are getting this close to the season, but it works for them.
I am looking at the transactions page on the CCHL website and noticed that only some teams are listing their transactions. Don't see much for the brockville, kanata, cumberland or cornwall. Is this the norm.
You are probably on the money. Very good analysis and I agree.
His skating has substantially improved and he has skill. He can take a pounding in front of the net and still score.
I thought T. Kirkwood of the Hawks would be the better coach for him. He would "instill" discipline. The coach has years of experience dealing with guys that are undisciplined.
Zach could play Jr. A next year and contribute if he "gets it".
I"ve seen the kid play and he is a fringe Jr B at best, Almonte is a good place for him to play as he couldn't make a high end competitive team...like Casselman , Winchester, West, Athens etc
The talk out of Nepean right now is that Hedges and Norris are at the Canada East Camp. Hedges appears to have explored other playing options , the Q and US Jr., but appears to have decided to return to Nepean.
I was wondering about Ryan Maclean, does anyone know if Maclean is coming back to Nepean? If Maclean comes back, Nepean will have, 4 of their 5 top forwards returning. (Norris, Neil,Hedges, Maclean), plus all of their role playing forwards. Nepean's forward group could actually be better this year, then last year.

Rumour is MacLean will probably suit up for Carleton U this year.
