I really want to know what they will accept? I don't want to make an offer for the Avs because I don't know if its too much or not enough. The question is what would your trade for him?
EDIT: Before people think I'm serious about trading for him, I'm not. It is a hypothetical question

If I was gonna overpay then I'd go after Giroux, Crosby, Tavares, or Malkin instead of Stamkos. With no disrespect to him and he really is one of the best players but not the one I trade that huge package for because of his playing style compared to the other ones.
Years of injuries or years of off ice issues in which he put up 55gp 7 goal 6 assist seasons for a couple of years in a row.
The first of which I hope doesn't happen and the second of which I can't see happening. Organizations trade players to get better and I can't see a scenario where trading Stamkos would make the team better.
If the Bolts missed the playoffs the next 3-5 years (all hypothetical, just used as an example) it'd be realistic to put him on the trading block to shake up the franchise and start fresh.
That said, right now you would be looking at a return of Duchene, Stastny, and Landeskog or 2x 1st Rnd Picks in place of Landeskog. And even than, it would be questionable.
Annual 50+ goal scorers, in this generation, come along so rarely that you would really have to break the bank and overpay to acquire them. And it could be to the detriment of the team acquiring him.

Right. If the Lightning have a period of sustained struggle it would make perfect sense to ship out the league's premier goal scorer in his early twenties.
An act of God. I mean I guess if the Oilers offered you two of the big four and a pick I would think about it if I was Tampa. But I am not Tampa and I am still guessing they wouldn't.

If I was Edmonton I would do that deal in a second if Tampa would take it.

RNH would have to be one of the two, personally I would take Eberle and then the pick which might be a first rounder. That is really steep. People will say not enough, but you are getting two young superstar types and a pick back for a superstar. I understand people not liking it I just said I would consider that deal. I might be higher on those two edmonton kids, some might prefer RNH and Hall or RNH and Yakupov. The point is RNH has to be in the deal though in my opinion.

You would get stamkos to fill RNH's spot at centre and you also have gagner to play centre on the second line, so losing RNH wouldn't be that bad.

Try 3 of the big 4. They'd want RNh, Eberle, and Hall + . There really is no market value for Stamkos barring him demaning a trade and making it public (better yet saying he only wants to play for 1 team) to scuttle his trade value. Just wouldn't be worth it for any franchise.
