I agree Grigorenko sucked big time.

Canada deservingly won, was a better team, wanted it more. Looking forward to Subway Super Series now.

Grigorenko played his worst game for team Russia. I am kind of disappointed that Russian new coach Varnakov couldn't make a single adjustment that would work. I am afraid that he will be much of a downgrade from Bragin.

Ouellet still hasnt got mentioned once in this thread, after the last 2 games I cant believe it. Well, I can because of his style but still. He was being matched up with Yakupov at the end and in OT and made that nice rush/pinch to assist on Stromes winning goal and still not one mention.

I think he and Harrington are going to end up as the shut down pair at the WJC for this team

It was a good play, but what do you expect people to say? Nobody mentioned him tossing pizza right up the middle in the second period either. He's been highly spoken of and did nothing to show he was better than anyone else. I know I expected him to be the rock of Canada's defense and he just wasn't. That doesn't mean Leafs fans or whoever else are dog-piling because he's a Bruins prospect. People are complaining because unlike the other team leaders (Huberdeau, Strome, Shiefele) he didn't lead much of anything.

Subban was just great, Hamilton was not.

Congrats to Team Canada.

Was glad to see Subban play better than I had hoped.

Good times as a Team Canada and Bruin fan. Hell, lots of NHL teams will be happy with their prospects play in this series.

Cheers

How did Canada win this series? Didn't both teams win two games each?

I thought he was...I was expecting him to lead the offense but seemed to stick to the parimiter of the rink, when he did try to deek if the canada defense just played teh body and not the puck they could containe him easy, his passing was very good, he seemed to have a lot of trouble getting the puck into the offensive zone for a shot.

yes...I thought he played ok, not a huge stand out in the game but made some good offensive plays.

Murphy IMO is amazing, with the puck he is really a treat to watch, his skating, puck handling ability and offensive play are very rare to find...I think Carolina has a gem with him.

Nothing really stood out to me about him other than his speed. Didn't look to me like he used his teammates well offensively/tried to do too much by himself and was below average defensively. Few flashes of good stuff but wasn't all that remarkable. But it's 4 games in August. Not really worth reading all that much into.

Great series in that it was a real series. Frankly I don't consider it a Canadian win, nor would I have considered it a Russian win had they won in the "overtime". Clearly it was 2 evenly matched teams, it was a nice show of hockey in the middle of the summer!

I was at the game, this is my thoughts.

Yakupov - Was mostly invisible unless he had the puck until his shift with 3 minutes left in the 3rd when they were down by 2. When he turned it on, he was head and shoulders better than anyone.

Hubredeau - The real deal

Hudon - That kid is going to be a stud. He was probably my favourite player on the ice. Massive hustle and work ethic.. I hope he becomes a star.
