Oliver Ekman Larsson.

And that's true about the 2nd part. Also there is the luxury tax in NBA.

I'm not making that trade either. Just merely making a point that those are the only types of players that could make a trade like this happen

A riffle and a bag of money.

Ottawa doesn't have what it takes to get Stamkos, unless you want to ruin the next 10 years.

The trade made by the Flyers in 1992 which sent Peter Forsberg, Steve Duchesne, Kerry Huffman, Mike Ricci, Ron Hextall, Chris Simon, their first-round picks for the following two seasons and $15m to Quebec is not considered a huge package.. Like a franchise C and G for an injury prone yet skilled player
(I'm agreeing with the quote, and disagreeing with the guy he quoted)

Forsberg, Ricci, Thibeault were good prospects. Hall/Eberle are elite players.

Are we talking about Peter here?? I hope we are not? Forsberg only a good prospect, but Hall/Eberle elite players?

Honestly, I doubt the Lightning move a player who has scored 51, 45, and 60 goals in three consecutive years for a young player who has a lot of promise and recently scored 70+ points (Eberle), Yakupov (no NHL validation), and some draft picks.

Honestly, I doubt the Oilers have anyone on their roster right now that will ever put up 156 goals in the course of 3 NHL seasons. Not Hall. Not Yakupov. Not RNH. Not Eberle.

I think if it was Eberle, Hall (a young stud with NHL experience), and 2x 1st round draft picks than the Lightning would consider it.

You're talking about a generational goal scorer, which means a massive overpayment. It's not fair, but that's honestly how it would work.

I never said tampa bay WOULD do it, I just said edmonton wouldnt, and I'll stand by that, I'm a big stammer fan but trading eberle, the 2012 1st overall pick, 2 more 1st rounders and teubert for stamkos wouldnt get edmonton anywhere, they have a good rebuild going

Gosh, well, then, I guess Stamkos won't be traded.

It's not. That's not the point. "Fair value" would never be accepted or even briefly considered, because we are talking about STEVEN MOTHER****ING STAMKOS, the youngest world-class superstar in hockey, and what would make TBL consider giving him up.

You can keep them, Tampa would never accept that anyway.

It would take him to not be happy and demand a trade or play 3 straight seasons and get 20 points in 82 games, that, is what it would take for him to get traded, both are impossible so... no he won't get traded.

I'd say a dispersal draft but I'm not sure that's how a dispersal draft works but yea.

Yuck. I wouldn't. We'd be Tampa after that trade: a few studs on offense and absolutely nothing to stop the puck from going into our own net.

Spezza+Cowen+Anderson+Zibanejad+Noesen+3 1sts, although I wouldn't do it personally.

Holy overpayment, you realize that Stamkos while elite sniper and top 3 player isnt worth basically your entire depth.

Theres a alot of trades that arent massive overpayments that would address alot of Tampas weaknesses that would improve Tampa massively, in goal, defence while somewhat negating Stamkos production.

I think the biggest reason why Stamkos trade never happens until very end of his contract is his popularity, superstardom that puts people in the seats in Tampa, there is no bigger fan favourite than top 3 superstar that puts ridiculous amounts of goals, see Ovechkin.

Or something like a dispersal draft of the Penguins, where the Bolts have the first 6 picks in the draft.
