I don't think Cesc will be as good with any other team. Just my 2 cents, but Arsenal made Fabregas who he is today, and his teamates helped him by having trust in him. If he goes to Barca, he won't be as much of a "center piece" of the club since Xavi will remain the focal point (in MF)
Such is the life of a Gooner. Same old song and dance
I've sent the mods a PM discussing it because I think it'd be easier doing it like this but if they say otherwise I'll change it back.
The GWTs got really long in some rounds so having the whole season in one thread would be too confusing. And LITN already said we'll do the weekly threads as linked by Fro.
Apparently Lukaku feels he wasted a year of his life and never wants to go back to Chelsea again. He hates soccer, wants to take his ball and go home.
I mean seriously, he was an 18 year old kid coming to an EPL team full of players at his position, what did he think was going to happen. I agree that Chelsea has killed more than its fair share of careers of players looking for paydays who left first team football for the stands of Stamford Bridge, but what did they expect?
I may be amongst the few but I'm tipping the Saints to beat the drop and surprise. I think Lambert can pull a "Grant Holt" and score goals in the PL. Adam Lallana is a terrific player. Nathan Clyne and Steven Davis were excellent sumer buys and they've got young yet experienced talent at lots of positions. They don't have depth to sustain lots of injuries but if they can stay healthy, I like the football they play.
A lot of previews I have seen are saying all three promoted teams could stay up and avoid dropping right back down. In my opinion, the most likely is West Ham. Just don't trust Ol' Fat Sam. I think Reading and Southampton both had done a good job of bringing in reinforcements. The thing I have been impressed with is both clubs have been smart with their money and invested in quality free agents or players who will add depth without breaking the bank. None of their moves smack of the overpayment desperation of West Ham's proposed £18 million pound move for Andy Carroll.
He is past it, he was so inconsistent while at Rangers there were even fans saying he shouldn't be the captain
Hard to say a 27 year-old is past it...granted, I didn't watch any SPL last year and not doubting that report but he's an experienced, low-risk addition at any rate.

But but but, Chelsea were his favorite team!
Maybe if he wasn't out of shape and had more technical skills than Yakubu.

Yeah maybe past it is too strong worded but he hasn't been great I can't remember if he left for free if he did then its a decent signing
All three can avoid the drop this time, but of them I think Reading and West Ham have better means to retool in January if need be than the Saints. It promises to be a very interesting year at the bottom of the table, if I'm honest... there are a lot of clubs like us and Stoke that could range anywhere from 10th to 19th.
Lukaku has been garbage at Chelsea unlike other youngsters, there have been no flashes of anything. The only time he looked remotely competent was this season's preseason tour against the Seattle Sounders.
