They probably seem a little odd because it's presumably a single instance simulation. Given the small percentage each team has of hitting a given draft position, I'm kind of surprised so many teams are in the right 'section' as it is; having a chance of between 2-6% makes it a veritable crapshoot, weighted or not. If he'd run a thousand sims and based the results off of that, it'd probably look a little less odd.

or take a C of theirs not named Stasny.

Ristolainen is actually the player I want most from the draft(after the big guns Jones, Mackinnon, Barkov, Monahan). I would be really happy if that were the order.

A number one center and a franchise d-man is what every team wants!

Nope! Did a draft lottery with every team having 3 balls. You lost a ball for every time you've made the playoffs or got the #1 pick in the last 3 years(but you had to have at least one ball). So teams like Columbus, NYI have 3(Columbus actually has 5 due to NYR & LA. picks) while Det & Edm would have only 1.

No love for Lindholm on here. Saw 2 mocks with him outside of the top 10. Think he'll go 6-8 range myself

But not a goalie, no sir, we spent a first and second rounder to shore that position up so there is no need there what so ever. Franchise centers and defenders sure, but goalie, no thank you. We are SET.

Its slowly becoming concensus that MacKinnon's future is on the wing not at center, that's probably where you heard it from.

Not sure about that he has been pretty great on the draw early on this season, it is possible he stays at centre at the next level imo. He was definetly weaker on the draw last year and I understand the doubts about him as a centre but a lot of times defense is the last thing that comes for these kinds of players.

No way Lindholm is around at 19. He's going to be gone around the #10 spot at least.

He's actually looked great as a center early on. Playing better D, getting PK time and winning a lot of draws

It's not really faceoffs that matter. Steve Ott is an amazing faceoff man (60%), but his game fits the wing way better, he's rarely played center at the NHL level because of that (He'll take the faceoff for a weaker guy like Benn or Ribeiro than he'll switch to wing).

I'm not saying he can't play center, and if a team who really needs a center drafts him (For example Toronto) he'll likely play that position for that team, but he really suits the wing a lot better. The way he uses his size and speed fits a winger a lot better than a center. His best NHL player comparable is Taylor Hall, who despite the Oilers attempting to get him to play a bit of center, is much better suited for wing.

If Dallas drafted him, I'd definitely rather him play right wing centered by Benn than for him to center Benn.

Both Seth Jones and MacKinnon are way too talented for the Avs to consider. Their organizational strategy is either big lugs or tiny danglers.

As a Habs fan, this sucks. I really hope we at least have some sort of a season so we can get a better draft pick.

Kings are down with this draft...not only do we lose a first that's only the 29th pick, we get the second best 2nd rounder too due to the snakey format.
