I just love how the only sections that are not touched are the 200 sections. Guess those 4 ghost sections will just be for promos.

Eric's logic for not even making 226 and 215 (defensive end upper corners) lower prices than the center is that people in the upper center will just move over to the cheaper seats..

So by that thinking, why are there 3 price points in the defensive end balconies? I mean, won't people in the front rows just move back, because Eric thinks people just look for cheaper seats similar to theirs?

Not to mention that everyone and their mother has said on here that the defensive end corners are a big enough difference in value to warrant some price difference.. Any game will show you that the market also agrees.. Couldn't even sell half the seats in 226 for a Sunday Flyers game this past season

They've guaranteed that those sections are ghost towns for 80% of games and only sell out for opening night and Ranger games

*********

Here is a photo I took of sections 215 and 214 during a Devils vs Flyers game on a Sunday this past season.. It's not the best quality but it makes the point

I dont recall him ever saying that, and it makes no sense. If anything, the absolute reverse is true. We all remember when the UL had a generally healthy population throughout (it was IMHO the best game atmosphere in terms of fans).

Precisely when did that end? It ended when they made the entire UL one price and completely devalued the UL corner sections, as I and some others on here predicted would happen. WTH wants to pay the exact same price for a corner seat when you can sit at dead center ice on the redline. Honestly, from that standpoint, this is E=mc2, which leads me to believe that that devaluation was intentional.

Then explain this e-mail I got today, unless they're somehow slotting existing sth's along with the rookie event (and the fact I even got this is kinda funny since I 'did' switch seats so I have no use for the makeup event):

Quote:
THANK YOU for helping make the second annual Devils Seat Upgrade and Relocation Event a success. Over a three night span, we had the opportunity to meet with over 550 accounts, of which more than 50% of attendees relocated to more desirable locations. We received great feedback, even from those of you who chose not to relocate, that the chance to look at open locations and get to know the staff even better, made it time well spent.

Each season, we will continue to reward your loyalty by coordinating a similar event for you to choose better locations out of unsold and non-renewed inventory. The longer you remain with the team for consecutive years as a Season Ticket Holder, the higher your priority will get, giving you access to even better seat locations each time.

Due to the overwhelming positive feedback, we have decided to hold a "Make-Up" Seat Upgrade and Relocation Event for those who weren't able to attend the first one last week. This make-up event will take place on Tuesday, September 18th, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. If you did not come to last week's event, and are interested in attending this make-up event, please CLICK HERE, and fill out an RSVP form by the Tuesday, August 28th deadline. Once we can gauge how many of you RSVP, we will assign one hour time slots for each of you, for the night of the event. Once again, upgrade and add-on seat incentives will be offered that night. We look forward to spending more time with you as we gear up for the season!

would appear to be both. here is the email I recieved as a new STH

Congratulations on becoming a new Devils Season Ticket Holder and proud member of the Devils Army. As a "Rookie" Season Ticket Holder, you are invited to take part in a private event at the Prudential Center where you can view all open and non-renewed seat locations to decide if you would like to relocate. If you are happy with your current seat locations, there is no need to attend this event. This is merely a courtesy to all of our new Season Ticket Holders to look at open locations in person, and allow you to choose from the best of what's available, as you sit in the actual seats.

This Rookie Season Ticket Holder Upgrade and Relocation Event will take place on Tuesday, September 18th at the Rock, and will run from 4:00pm 7:00pm. There will be three, one-hour long time slots within that span. Those slots will be assigned once we view the RSVP list, and each slot will include a 15 minute orientation so that you are well aware as to how the event will run.

Attendance is not required. Only if you are interested in looking at other open locations outside of the seats you currently own, should you RSVP for this event. If you are interested in attending, please CLICK HERE and submit your RSVP form based on the exact e-mail address that this message has been been delivered to:

I guess it's safe to assume that if the season starts on time we won't be receiving our season tickets till after September 18th.

The first home preseason game is ten days after the 18th though, that's cutting it pretty close to finalize seat locations and then mail the tickets. It's almost like they don't expect the season to start on time, especially since they still haven't let us know our 'rewards' yet.

Ya that doesn't make any sense at all. I know they have trouble filling behind the nets but those prices should have been for the 200's. However, its easier not to show the 200's on TV. lol

That and fan noise has more of an effect in the 100's than the 200's. I don't think it's unreasonable they want to make sure they pack sth's into the 100's first before slashing the 200's but eventually they gotta slash the 200 corners.

UL center ice (229 & 212) has a tremendous view, I don't think too many STHers will move to lets say 209 beause it's $5 or $7 less.

I think they should make the last two rows of 209,215 226 & 232 $20 for students (college/high school) every game.
It would get more people into the rink, enhance the crowd noise/atmosphere as well as sell more concessions.
Plus, students are candidates for future season ticket holders.
Continue to build the foundation.

Those "problem" sections are mostly ghost towns on a number of nights.
Something needs to be done by the Devils sales/marketing folks.

Hey I was hoping someone had some insight. I want to go to the Devils vs Islanders preseason game @ the new Barclays Center on Tuesday October 2. I'd prefer to go on the cheap, as I want to bring a bunch of friends, and it is a preseason game, so spending $30-50 a ticket for uppers seems a bit much. I was looking on stubhub, and they don't have the event listed at all. I was looking on ticketexchange, and any tickets they are offering are $85+. Stubhub has the preseason game at the Rock, Philly, and Montreal listed. Why would the Barclays game not be listed? Is there something I'm missing? Thanks!

Usually preseason games are still at whatever the Box Office price is. Because there's no definite on an NHL season that could be one reason it's not on Stubhub (see posts above yours).

This is an Islanders home game though and not a Devils one, so I'm not sure anyone here would be of much help in regards to this.

I don't think either team is actually "home". I think Barclays is hosting it. Either way with it being the opening of the building tickets aren't going to be cheap.

In a sense that they aren't playing at their home arenas, you're correct. But it's being billed as an Islanders "home" game, and the Devils are the away team.
