I don't know that the Habs will have a great season, but I do think we'll finish ahead of the Panthers. I see Florida crashing back to earth in a big way.
We have to trade a roster player to a team that has choking potential, that's the only way to finish bottom-5, or we could actualy sink deep if some of our top-6 get injured for a good stretch as Leblanc and Gllagher won't be enough to fill-in top-6, unless they prove otherwise.
And also we don't have a lot of PP forward, we now have a very good 5v5 and PK group but none of our forwards will dominate the PP, on the back end though we have PK, Markov and Kaberle, if those three arent enough be quaterback a PP we'll never have a good PP. Weber has the best PP shot on the team, but i sincerly doubt he can secure a spot on this roster, he'd have to surpass both Bouillon and Diaz to earn a 6th spot and is not what we need in our top-6.
We could run 7 defencemens, but we already have a stacked bottom 6, and even then he'd have to take that spot over Bouillon or Diaz. That's some smallish and soft defence.
We could be anywhere between 15th and 5th in the east.
So for the hockey news to be correct at putting the habs at 13th.
Markov will never play another game in the 2012-13 year.
Gomez will be playing top minutes again in at least 40 games again.
Cam will be out for 30 games again.
and so on and so on.
thats like saying Crosby has been injured in the past so it's predicted he will be hurt again this year for 3/4 of the season and ever year he plays going forward.

LMAO yeah exactly. But hey, don't take this "speculating on speculation about a speculated season" too seriously. After all, each and every single year is different and comes with a sh!tload of unexpected events. Injuries being the first thing that may turn everything around. Not to mention what a great season start can do. And goaltending.
Just look at 2008, the Habs finished first in the east! Who would've thought?
Hopefully, if we play the physical game intelligently, and our PP isn't as horrible as it was pre-Kaberle, there's no reason to finish 13th in the East this year around.
well well well another loser thread where the losers come out and say we should lose.
Maybe we should make the all tank thread all illegitimate fans speak here. So over the tank talk and over the loser talk. Funny if we finish last a lot of people are happy on here and when we make the playoffs people ***** and complain that we didn't win and talk abotu how we should have tanked.
History has shown that when this team is projected to have a good year they usually suck. The inverse is usually true as well. Whenever the team goes into a season being already written off, they usually have a good run. This also applies to individual games. The Habs are a team that can often handle the strong teams quite well but can't beat the NYI, CBL, EDM teams to save their lives.
The players seem to put less pressure on their shoulders when the team is expected to tank yes. That phenomenon also happens in the playoffs with the Cinderella runs and such. It's nothing new to professional sports/show biz.
All depends on injuries. If we're lucky and healthy, I expect 6th or 7th and with not much separating us from 4th and 5th. We have a strong hockey club, we just need to get rid of the distractions, headcases and injury woes. Obviously this is true for all teams (injuries), but the THN (the THE) predictions are based on the assumption of what's on paper. On paper we are wayyyy better than 13th and a very dangerous team.
The key to everything: Who is this Michel Therrien?
I wonder what you guys would be saying if they picked us to finish in the top 8... 'THN is legit, they know their stuff'
i believe they predicted us to finish high the season after we finished first. Obv everyone was saying same as now, THN just uses last years standings more or less and is doesn't use much predictive tools.
But yea, way more fun to put down your fanbase that you keep coming back to day after day.

Nope, just putting down the ones that always react like little babies when an article, or opinion, isn't in Montreal's favour. But hey, you sound awesome, so if I search through your thread/comment history.. I guess I won't find you insulting or second guessing the HF Fanbase, right? You wouldn't do that, would you?
