They haven't been horrible, but nothing to get excited about yet. Not much in the way of attacking threats, too slow in transition. Serbia has had a few opportunities they haven't taken advantage of.

I'm just waiting on Poland winning to win me some money. As long as Holland hold on but watching the game Poland don't look like doing it.

what a start, and apparently Stimac refused to do a post match interview on HRT with his former co-commentator

The defense was a mess, Maloca was a disaster but collectively it was bad, too much space and Rakitic-Badelj can't play together, you need a DMC in there.

The only thing I liked is we are actually playing with some purpose in attack compared to Bilic's team (first half, second half was a snooze fest). The team was actually making runs out wide and running at players, unlike under Bilic where we would keep possession 65% but most of it was mindless midfield passing

But this will be a very frustraining qualifying cycle...we will probably beat Macedonia with ease but boy am I scared of that Belgium game! Stimac will make Baric look like a legend

Belgium 4-2 Holland

I know it's just a friendly but whatever. Pretty awesome game.

Holland hasn't beaten us since 1997.

0-0 away to Serbia is alright in my books with that young squad. Westwood looks like he will do very well filling in for Shay Given.

Still need a proper goal scorer to replace Robbie Keane. Walters, Cox, Long, Keogh - none of them are the quality of Keane.

Richard Dunne hopefully comes back, he'll be the one they miss the most I reckon if he hangs the boots up.

Puerto Rico are holding on! 30 minutes in and still 0-0. The keeper has been amazing so far and if Torres can't score today... Chelsea are done for the season lol.

England beat Italy 2-1 at the ****dorf. Not Italy's strongest team though.

Defoe's winner probably should have been saved by Sirigu. 5 new caps for England, Butland, Ruddy, Cleverley, Bertrand and Livermore. Ruddy made some nice saves, Bertrand cleared one off the line. Cleverley was ok, played off the striker, which isn't his best position. Adam Johnson was good in the first half.

Scotland won 3-1 against Australia

Ian Black (plays for Rangers but played for Hearts) got booed by the Scottish fans on his debut and as much as I dislike him that really is pathetic

The game was played in Easter Road - Hibs stadium

2-1 Spain with minutes to go.

Great showing by PR here (great for them I should say). Spain has not been walking around all game like the score would suggest. It has been a solid game.

I saw/heard that. Only in Croatia we give our national teams (Stimac in football, Goluza in handball, Vrankivic back when he was coaching basketball) in hands of people without experience and/or expertise.

The only sport in which we have a competent and unbiased federation is water polo.

yep...I still can't believe they gave the job to Stimac. I mean even the coaching staff is a joke, Tudor and Boksic also have no experience. Jurcic is Jurcic, an average HNL coach. I watched the pre-game and Boksic looked like he had no clue, he didn't know much about the Swiss team and he contradicted Stimac who only few days before says he wants to play like Spain, well Boksic said Croatia shouldn't try to play like Spain...what a mess

They still will probably beat Macedonia and they will get all euphoric, before the eventual disaster loss to Belgium.

And what was up with Mamic and Sammir sitting together. What a provocation!

I fear the football team will go down the same route as the basketball team, only thing saving the football team is there is still some good talent on this team and for the future, but the management and federation will wash that all away it looks

Wasn't our strongest side either. Not really bothered about the game though, pointless friendly at a pointless time of the season.

What an amazing atmosphere tonight. By far the best I've ever witnessed live at the Heizel. The expectations are high for this coming campaign. Failing is not an option. No more "our group is so young, we're still in building phase. It's time to harvest in Brazil with this "Golden Generation". We need to beat Croatia for #1 in our group. It'll be interesting to see what Wilmots will do against Wales. But one this is sure: we need to take the three points back to the continent.
