"offsides"

Empty seats.

Experts who read the stats and watch the highlights with little to no actual knowledge of the game... (e.g. 3/4 of HF)

Simply people who try and talk about hockey or prospects and clearly have limited knowledge about both.

The one thing I can't stand (that happens here all the time too) is that people complain about head shots when the player getting hit in the head is skating full speed with his head down. I remember Shane Doan saying it before in an interview and I'm glad SOMEBODY finally said it, players have to take responsibility for themselves. You can't go skating around at full speed right towards a guy with your head down and expect him to just step out of your way.

I'm not going to lie though, I'm one of those guys that will yell, "skate skate skate!" or "over over!" but that all came from when I started playing hockey. I never used to say that kind of stuff before I started playing but now I do all the time. I never say shoot it though, that one drives me nuts. It's always yelled when there isn't a shooting lane at all too...

Rangers fans and their "three home arenas."

Bob Miller's voice.

Tim Saunders' score call.

People who show up to hockey games in football jerseys.

Lazy players, or players that give up on the backcheck.

Obnoxious diving missed calls.

Big players that don't use their size.

Lockouts.

David Clarkson's skating abilities.

-The Penguins in general [although MetalheadPenguinsFan is the best ]

-Marc Staal plays for the Hurricanes

-Fans who have all these rules. "You can't yell shoot" "that's a jersey foul" "be quiet during the action" "don't bang on the glass" Bro c'mon, leave me alone.

-The idea of "benefiting" from a lockout

-Posters taking my artful hyperbole too seriously

-John Carlson's face

-The recent underrating of Marian Gaborik

-The torrid sexual fantasy the NYR board has with Bobby Ryan

-Player X is Russian, so he's lazy, poor defensively, and a bad teammate.

Oh we can do things like that? I hate the Devils, their nervous, sweaty, doughy looking coach, their Oompa-Loompa GM, their irritating voiced homer broadcast team, their arrogant, obnoxious, entitled fans who have the brass to chant "YOU SUCK!" at the opposing team after every goal they score, regardless of how badly their team is getting spanked, and finally, the ever present threat of being violently murdered if you decided to take advantage of one of the many, many occasions they simply give tickets away for free.

I'm going to take this in a different direction. I'm going to go with my pet peeves as a goalie when I am actually playing:

1) When defensemen stand in the shooting lane and then move at the last minute to avoid blocking the shot. Get out of the way if you don't want to get hit, let me see the puck!

2) Forwards that like to chop at my glove when the puck is CLEARLY covered, or just hack wildly around my net when I have the puck.

3) Players that seem to think that playing the position is not difficult, and that being a good forward or defenseman qualifies you to tell me what I am doing wrong when I let a goal in.

4) Referees. They are all terrible.

The fact that you can have 11 shots on goal, but only 3 scoring chances.

Every shot on goal is a scoring chance.

I have some old games on tape and around 2001-02, the shark tank had HORRIBLE camera work. On either broadcast. You could barely see the players' numbers. Is it still like that?

Also, I don't know why it bugged me but when many players used to have long hair and then they would cut it all off because everyone else was doing it lol

Lately and as an Oilers fan,

the continous love affair Oilers fans have for top prospects in every draft that they forgot what's the most important: winning.

People that wear jerseys of other teams to games. If Florida is taking on Tampa, no need to wear your Leafs jersey.

Drunk Leafs fans.

Booing Alfy in our own building. Half the people do not remember why they hate him.

Also fans that complain about being outnumbered by the opposition fans. It's the home fan's responsibility for protecting their own arena and going to those games and bring your A game.

I tell my friends in Edmonton that if you're going to a Leafs or Habs game in Rexall, you bring your A game and don't let those fans take over your building.

One game I went to a fan would yell "that's intentional offsides" on every play that went offside.

The fact that putting the puck over the glass is not treated the same as icing.

Pierre McGuire

Analysts who explain that a team lost a close game because they didn't: "want it as much", "play with as much heart", "battle as hard" etc. Everyone tries their best in these close games.

Refs who "let them play" (and cheat) in a close game near the end. Some consistency please, whether its playoffs, the 3rd period, OT etc.

The effects of suspensions, they don't deter players from cheap shots. I suggest a system where the offending player's team plays with a shorter roster for the duration of the suspension. This would prevent the hiring of consistently violent players. Of course it would actually be far more complicated than this simple explanation.

I have relatives that own season tickets to every NHL team in Canada except Winnipeg and Toronto.

Everyone of them sells their tickets to the Toronto and Montreal games for way more than they are worth in order to lower how much their season tickets cost.

This lowers the amount of home town fans.... Which sucks.
