Just performed my 1st fantasy football draft. It was auto'd since my work computer doesn't allow me to run the draft application for whatever reason. What do you guys think? I know Mathews is injured, but it atleast sounds as if he'll be good to go for the start of the season.
1. Ryan Mathews (SD - RB)
2. Trent Richardson (Cle - RB)
3. Greg Jennings (GB - WR)
4. Miles Austin (Dal - WR)
5. Robert Griffin III (Was - QB)
6. Vernon Davis (SF - TE)
7. Robert Meachem (SD - WR)

11. Matt Schaub (Hou - QB)
12. Santana Moss (Was - WR)

Ouch Gunners.
Yea from what I've heard, auto-drafting is by far the worst for football. Good thing that one is just a random public league. What/who exactly are the bad picks anyways, just curious. Anybody I should stay away from in my next live draft?

It's honestly not terrible for a 14-teamer. The QB situation is awful, but aside from that it's really ok. Mathews and Richardson are gambles, but if they return soon (and stay healthy) they could both put up real big numbers. There's some concern with Jennings' concussion, and there's always concern with Austin getting hurt, but when healthy those two are about as good as they come. Vernon's solid at TE for a 14-teamer. RG3 in the 5th was the biggest mistake (obviously not your fault, but...).
^^^^^
Feels a little weak for a 12-teamer, but I usually do 10 so I could be a little off. I assume you took Foster first (certainly can't go wrong with that) and Lynch and Roddy when it came back around. I'm not particularly high on Lynch, and Roddy's been slipping a lot in mocks lately for some reason, but they certainly could be solid. Who knows what's going on with Britt so Washington has nice upside. I'm not high on McGahee, but he is the clear starter there so he might be able to pull out another solid year. Romo's fine at QB as he'd be an average starter in a 12-teamer. I liked Starks' upside before the Benson signing, now I'm not so sure. Floyd also has potential although I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being Vincent Brown who emerges there. Not a fan of Celek though. I'd probably have him ranked 13/14, so it sucks to have to start him. Not bad though.
Only an 8-team league, and I got first pick, in a snake draft of course. Basic fantasy rules. Draft position is in the first brackets, the number I took them relative to their position is in the second brackets.
QB - Eli Manning (32) (7)
RB - Arian Foster (1) (1)
RB - Trent Richardson (16) (7)
WR - Larry Fitzgerald (17) (4)
WR - A.J. Green (33) (10)
TE - Jermichael Finley (49) (6)
RB/WR - Michael Turner (48) (18)
K - Stephen Gostkowski (112) (6)
DEF - Detroit Lions (81) (4)
QB - Philip Rivers (65) (13)
RB - Doug Martin (80) (26)
RB - Toby Gerhart (113) (33)
WR - Miles Austin (64) (20)
WR - Michael Crabtree (96) (31)
TE - Jacob Tamme (97) (11)
I feel like I got really good value on my backup RBs, and all of my receivers except maybe Crabtree. My most iffy pick is probably Richardson, but I feel the value on (along with the consistency of) Turner makes up for it. I like where I took Rivers, but might have jumped on Manning too early. I was also really happy to get Finley as the 6th tight end taken.

I have played in a auction league where there were no limits on how much a player could be bought for, but it was paid with real money and by the end of the draft, guys were spending over $500 bucks on their team...it was crazy...the wars to land Peterson were brutal..
I have also played in another league that was at a $100.00 buy in, with a set amount of "pretend" money that each gm had to use....once you reached your total, you could not bid on anymore players and depending on how many picks you had left, you got auto picked the dudes that cost $1.00...
I am not a fan of either because there is always a ******* or two who is going to go all out on a few players, jacking their price tags up and making it hard to get the team you wanted compared to a regular draft...it is certainly exciting and could be fun, but depending on how you play it, be prepared!
QB - Matthew Stafford
WR - Larry Fitzgerald
WR - Jordy Nelson
WR - Jeremy Maclin
RB - Ryan Mathews (Got him round 4, ROUND 4!!!!) Even with his injuries, Ive been really high on him this year, much more than any other year, but round 4 is just ridiculous)
RB- Benjarvis Green Ellis
TE - Owen Daniels
K - Dan Bailey
D - Pittsburgh
Thats the risk you take when you take a QB in the first round. ur WRs need a lot of help, especially if Britt cant go early
What's the risk? That you cant get a good WR core? That position is crazy deep this year. I've been mocking in the 2 slot and taking Rodgers, Charles, then wideouts in the 3rd, 4th and 5th(12 teamer). Looks great every time.
QB- Tony Romo
WR- Brandon Marshall
WR- Greg Jennings
WR- Dez Bryant
RB- Chris Johnson

10 team standard league....I got #2 overall...I have them ordered in round picked

9. Jermaine Gresham TE
10. Houston Texans D
11. Andy Dalton QB
12. Brandon LaFell WR
13. Jon Baldwin WR
14. Dan Bailey K
15. Dustin Keller TE
16. Cincinnati Bengals D
17. Matt Bryant K
League rules as follows: had to pick 2qbs, 5wr, 4rb, 2TE, 2D, 2K
This is probably the best overall team that I have ever drafted in all my years doing this... I picked 2nd overall and I walked away with Arian Foster, Ryan Matthews, and Demarco Murray as my top 3rbs...that is insane to beat if these guys stick healthy..plus I landed Kevin Smith who will be a starter for at least the first 3 weeks so he can fill in for Matthews right off the bat!
Also getting Percy Harvin, Demaryius Thomas, and Torrey Smith at receiving is huge as I got 3 legit #1 receivers who all are going to be top 25 wideouts by years end...especially Harvin who gets around 400 rushing yards a year as well!!
Romo in the 7th again is simply outstanding....Dalton to back him up is completely a- okay with me...
Gresham is my Jimmy Graham stud this year, so I have targeted him in every draft...backing him up with Keller on a contract year is solid in my book....I am huge on Jared Cook as well so I can snag him up and dump Keller if I need to...
Houston is going to be the top defense this year, and Bailey is a top 5 kicker...cant complain at all...
My other money league just drafted today: 12 teams, picked 11th spot. 8 bench spots, so because I landed a top QB and TE, I filled my bench with all RBs and WRs and can use them as trade bait if needed. Absolutely destroyed this draft, my team is just sick.

Yeah that team is phenomenal for a 12-teamer. Fitz and Julio are top 5 on my board (in terms of WRs). Richardson could be a top 5 back. SJax is certainly solid. Smith could be the starter in Detroit for a while, McGahee could be quite productive if he stays healthy, same goes for Redman, and Williams will likely be the starter in AZ, and Jennings has big upside with the MJD situation.

I'll pick up a kicker before the opener.
Thoughts? Prayers?
12-teamer I assume? I can't quite figure out where you picked or what the order was. I'm assuming you took Murray toward the end of the first round, then Graham near the beginning of the 2nd? Then went Cam and Jordy, then BJGE and Lloyd. I'm guessing you were like a 10-12 pick? I definitely like Murray, I like Smith and Bush on your bench, I could see Lloyd putting up big numbers, I don't think Cam will have as much of a sophomore slump as some people do, I think Graham will be the top TE, and while I was very surprised with Jordy last season there's nothing to indicate he can't do it again.
