It's probably a fair signing, but next to the Pacioretty contract it looks pretty bad.

Signing a long term deal in Philly is like buying the first Megabus ticket out of town...

Simmonds is a very good player, pretty good contract.
I understand forwards usually peak around 24-27, but that still doesn't make any sense lol. The person explained what they meant though. Entering the age of 24 he still has many aspects of his game he can improve on, and Homer believes he will.

Agree good contract.

Agreed. Great forward core. With guys like Hartnell/Briere/Read around it is definitely built to compete for a cup. Just need a core piece of D to build around as well... but I think Flyer fans have heard enough of that

Couturier+ for Yandle? : )

not saying this in regards to simmonds, but for the elite scorers 23 is actually not that far off from where their goals totals start to decline these days.

this is a false report because next off-season he's supposed to be offer-sheeted

Philly signing someone to a long term deal basically means that a trade is inevitable in a year or two

I am not sure. There were lots of teachers I didn't know there. Jimenez was there haha.

Anyways this is a little off topic the overlords err I mean mods are going to be upset.

I wonder if Simmonds comes back down to Scarborough during the summer. One of my buddies saw him at the store last summer.

My buddy "Are you Wayne Simmonds"

Simmonds "yeah"

my buddy "cool man"

lol

He's actually not. On top of scoring goals, he is physical and good defensively.

Good signing by the Flyers.

You would have known Mr. Adams, he was a fabulous teacher. Simmonds was at Scarborough Arena with the Stewart brothers and Doughty on Canada Day. They had a fundraiser but I can't remember what it was for, so he definitely comes back here.

You forgot the not to mention I'm actually going to correct myself, because 8 players are still signed past 2015 so I wasn't completely accurate.

Not that much. He isn't a defensive player, but he rarely costs us a goal when he's on the ice. ( maybe even never but I can't be sure about that. Don't remeber any time he did tbh)

Not sure is Simmonds is worth a top 6 commitment. I think this contract could have waited a little bit unless Holmgren offered it just to trade him soon.

Paul's a nut, fun gm to follow.

I hate the Flyers, but I like Simmer, and this is a great deal for him, and it'll look even better by the end of the term too.
