I'd like the Leafs to give Kadri a legitimate chance next year to show what he's got. The guy is very highly skilled and you don't want to give up on someone like him, especially so early in his career. I'm not a Leafs fan and I don't know the whole situation surrounding him, but he had the look of an offensive force back in his draft year.

He is probable to get a roster spot this season, as Carlyle liked his play for the 2 games he was up. They had already used the 4 call-ups/send downs so then Scrivens, Gardiner, Ashton, Frattin could play AHL playoffs, and when MacArthur and Frattin were injured, He was called up as an emergency call up. I really like his chances for this year.

Thanks for the info. I'm definitely interested to see what happens with him.

Haha, I'm an Isles fan and have had 'patience' stuffed down my throat for quite some time now. That's probably the best thing with Kadri though IMO. I don't get why so many are so quick to unload him. I don't know about best post, more like most uninformed.

The leafs shouldn't give up on Kadri.

From what i have seen this kid was dicked around so hard, coming out of junior he was small and speedy which led him to success, but Brian Burke wanted truculence forcing the kid to put on weight which made him lose his best asset his shiftiness.

On top of that when the kid was up why did the leafs never give him a top 6 role? Consistently putting him on the 3rd line with grinders who can't finish and expecting him to put up points was stupid, and on top of that it was up and down with this guy.

He can still turn into a 60p player I believe, he just needs a top 6 role and a chance to be able to produce, stop with all this Truculence crap and let the kid lose some muscle and regain his speed, its insane to call him a bust.

Fans are quick to hate on Kadri.

In all the Luongo threads, Canucks fans are quick to bad mouth Kadri like "oh hes a bust" "hes too small to center the 3rd line, give us Colborne".

In reality these are the same fans who were demanding Hodgson (who I think is a very comparable player) get more ice time and was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Its just like Hodgson, he had been a bust right until last year (when he turned 21)

Canucks fans are so high on Bjugstad it seems but really wouldnt Kadri be a good "consolation prize" if a deal with Florida cant be done?

Yes I do think Bjugstad > Kadri but not by a huge margin.

I would muxh rather do Luongo for Kadri + than Luongo + for Bjugstad if it comes down to it.

I liked how in the recent Challenge Series, Harrington was playing, and played every game I think, but you don't even notice him out there. He is not an offensive guy, but he takes great care of his own end. I wish the leafs would be able to get him, could possibly be a great pairing down the road with Rielly or Gardiner.

On pace for 31, fairly decent production for a rookie.

Is Braeden Schenn a bust with 20 points in 63 games (less productive than Kadri)

I'd be more interested from Leafs fans on what it would realistically cost to get:

one of either MacArthur or Kulemin
possibly Biggs

When I say realistically, I'm not talking about give up the world for Kaberle proposals

I think Tangradi would be a great fit in Toronto for starters. Burke originally drafted him. He's never going to get a shot while Bylsma's the coach since he treats young players breaking in like Hitchcock did in CBJ. If JvR sticks at center, Tangradi could definitely be an interesting winger on that line. I'd hate to trade him but Bylsma will always have the likes of Craig Adams and other players who played like himself ahead of him and other young guys breaking in on the depth chart.

You lost all credibility in my books when you called Mike Gillis the best GM in the NHL.

I would rather the Leafs held on to Kadri unless a team was willing to overpay for him.

Kid is 21 and has good upside. I want to see what he looks like after training with Roberts, guy plain has yet to fail making an impact on every player that's trained with him.

He has gotten 81 points in 92 AHL regular season games, and 10 points in 11 games these past AHL playoffs. I really think he can be in the top 6. When he was up he was put with 3rd line scrubs like Lombardi who couldn't finish his sweet passes. Even playing with these inadequate linemates he was on pace for about 28 points last year and about 33 points the season prior. I think he will do just fine.
